Which tune is the supposed to be the economy tune? I set the truck with the 87 oct tune but I didn't go into anything other than the tire sizes to make changes. My question is... by selecting this tune do I need to go into all the stuff that I had to scroll past to actually make a difference in the performance or is the 87 oct tune basically a blanket tune that you can fine tune if you see fit?
I'm sure this has been asked but I've found on other forums that I when I use the search feature I usually don't find exactly what I was looking for. I appologise if this is a question that has been asked before.
I would really like to get some more mpg than my average 9-10 mpg

RE: 87 Oct tune
other than a free flowing exhaust, and free flowing air intake, you arent going to pick up much fuel efficiency with that 6.0 4x4.... the 87 tune should pick it up a little, and generally the performance tune will pick it up even more, but then you must run higher octane fuel, which costs more....
after getting your fueling dialed in, thats about as much as you can do for mileage. read Lew's sticky on dialing in LTFT's... these are related to your lean cruise modes when you arent at full throttle, and play a huge determining role in the amount of fuel being sprayed at cruise speeds.
if that doesnt work, you can always cut a 4x4 piece of wood, and insert it under your gas pedal.
good luck
