USB Cable
USB Cable
This is the second diablo sport tuner that was shipped to me U7151 (ford F-150 08 5.4L) When i try to hook the tuner up to my computer it shuts the computer off. Why is it doing this. I must say I am very disappointed so far. the 1st tuner that was shipped to me was the wrong one. I had to pay for shipping it back now you send me the second tuner, which again was the wrong program for my truck and the USB cable does the same thing. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOVLED.
RE: USB Cable
When you try to hook the tuner up... I assume you mean that when you plug the USB cable in? It sounds like you did not install the drivers, or you selected the drivers for the wrong version of Windows?
See this post for more information.
As for having the wrong Predator, is it a dealer who is sending you the wrong one?

RE: USB Cable
The problem lies in Microsoft Vista, It works fine on XP. When you get the drivers for windows Vista could you let me know where to download them. Thank You
RE: USB Cable
There are Vista drivers on that link I gave you above, but they may not work with your cable. What make and model of cable do you have?

RE: USB Cable
Hi Sean:
Your problem with a serial converter cable is that the new Microsoft Brainchild "Vista" is probably incompatible. All of them are fickle beasts, and should be avoided if at all possible! If you have a friend with an older XP system and a serial output (Com Port 1) it will work perfectly. Get yourself a serial extender cable, 9 pin to pin, male to female, and it will be a snap. Predator also sells an interphase kit. It consist of the cable and power supply. One must assume that the UBC to serial cable they sell should be compatible. I am into High End Audio, and I would never trust a UBC to serial connection to downloadind complicated and sensitive files. The serial to serial is a surefire fix!
