power problem U7170

power problem U7170
I have a U7170 which I have no use for anymore since I got a 6.0L now, but a friend wants to buy my U7170. When he plug into his 2002 F-350 7.3L it will not do anything (no power) I know the U7170 works because I just put my 2000 F-250 7.3L back in stock mode last Thurday, what might be causing the unit not to power up now is it the truck or unit. I think it is the truck can anybody help me out?
