Old 1793

Post by eber66 »

I have been out of the loop for a while and didnt know if the old 1793s had been upgraded to log yet. Can someone catch me up if there is anything to catch up on. Also for me to get a custom tune I would need to have the new version, correct?

nope, no update/upgrade available for the older versions to enable logging/internet updates.

you can get a custom tune with any version... don't need the new ones to do that..

Just to make this clear to me Monte I can give so you my info on my truck and you can come up with a killer tune and I can download it to my tuner? Or do I have to have a new one to do logs and you will look at the logs. I guess that is what I meant by custom tune.

dont need logs as long as you monitor the correct info...

you can still view the data live on the screen while you drive, it just won't save it to a log file..

so as long as you view your LTFT's (for bank 1 and bank 2) at a steady normal cruise/drive on the highway, somewhere between 1800-2500 rpms... you would write down the the values of the LTFT's you see while doing that... then take the average of those numbers - you'll then have an average value for bank 1 and one for bank 2...

using that info, you can then adjust your injector slope to get those LTFT's in the 0 to -2 range.

if you have other mods on your truck that you need a custom tune for, then yes - you would tell the CMR tuner what mods you have, and then you would need to send them a copy of the tune from out of your truck and email it to them, and then they would be able to create a custom tune from that - they would then email it back to you, and you would need to import it into your predator from your PC, then you could hook up to your truck and install that custom tune to it.

so yes, you can import custom tunes to your predator and install custom tunes to your truck.

you need the interface kit to be able to do that stuff... which consists of the power adapter and the serial cable... so you can connect your predator to your PC.

Didn't know DS made a 1793..... now they make a 7193.... LOL...

As everyone else has said, there is no major update. The latest revision of the software for the 7193 is 2.10.
