you still can not get it... those new crom revision update files are for the new production predator's only. yours can not do remote/downloadable updates, nor log. those files are only for the new version predators in production now.

the only way you will get the new stuff/features is to sell / trade in your predator and buy a new one.

How do you tell if yours is older or newer. Got mine 9 months ago or so.

9 months ago - yours is the older one, can not do the update...

production of the new models/versions started only about a month and a half to two months ago...

the way to tell is... when it boots up to the main menu, it shows the revision number at the top of the screen...

if it is a 1.xx or 2.xx number, you have the "old" version and it can not be updated...

if the number is a 9r.xx number, then it is one of the newer ones and can be updated via the downloadable crom revision update files...

oh, and there is no "secret" to getting an older predator to be able to be updated... since no "update" exists for the older ones...

the only way to get the functionality of the logging and downloadable updates is to buy a new one...

When I came back from Miami a couple of weeks ago, I stopped by and talked to Mike L. We talked about the 7193, and discussed a few things. All I can say is the same thing as Mike did before... please be patient..... it WILL be worth the wait.

I can tell you this... the software between the old 7193 and new 7193 is the same (as far as the tune goes). The only thing the new 7193 offers is the logging capability and user updatability. Performance wise, you're not missing out on anything.

and I can tell you that they tried a "software-only" upgrade scheme for the older ones, and that there were a bunch of issues... with a bunch of shit not working right... believe me, I could tell you a lot of things...

so at this point, as has been mentioned by Mike and everyone else, there is no "upgrade" available for the older models...

and so, as I said before, the only way to get the functionality of the logging and downloadable updates is to buy a new one...

cuz I don't see the "software-only" upgrades working without the new hardware anyway... which will still require you to buy a new one to get that new hardware...

there may be an upgrade offered at some point, but it's going to entail you sending in your predator, them replacing the "guts" with the new hardware, formatting it with the new software and OS that they are now using (that was not used in those older version predators), and it's going to cost you money...

you'll be waiting a looooooooooooooooong time if you're looking for an "upgrade" program to appear....

been waiting 2.5 years for TCM support, and they're just starting to work on that now...

sell your current one, and use the money from that to buy a new one... then you'll have all the newest features...
