U7193 software Tire calibration correct?

Post by jonathanalberto007 »

Perhaps I am missing something, but I tried everything to calibrate my tires with the Diablo Sport predator U7193, however I seen a few post and some Diablo web site instructions that in the tire parameters set up, I do first the original tire size (factory tire size) then it will ask me for the actual tire size. On the contrary all my U7193 Diablo sport predator tuner has is an option to place the actual only, but no original :?: . May be it is ok, but I just need to confirm if I am may be missing part of the calibration software, because I am still 3 to 4 miles off. Thank you for all of your input as it is greatly appreciated. :D

Yes, the new tools (9rXX revision) do not require the stock size be entered.
If you are off by a bit, make some minor adjustments to the aspect ratio to adjust the overall height of the tire size.

I have tried that and what happens is the truck turns the stability control off and it will not respond to the button, until I restore to factory. The aspect ratio turns the stabiltity off once I go over 75. Is there something I am doing wrong or is there something else happening. Using U7193 9r03 on a 05 Avalanche.

Thanks for any sugeestions.

You may be exceeding the max tire size that the PCM will accept, what size are they?

Stock size was 265/70R16 I currently have 285/75R16. When I enetered 285/75R16 the speed was off by 3mph. I tried adjusting the aspect ratio to 76 and higher, and it disables the stability control. The tires are only 32.8in diameter. I reset parameters and then modified the tire size, several times and same results. Is my PCM the issue? Do you know what the max is for the PCM?
Thanks you guys!

Would changing the width of the tire on the Predator have any effect? For example putting 295/75/16 or 295/70/16?

I have tried increasing the rim size also and gives me the same problem. Whether increasing aspect ratio above 75 or rim above 16 my stability control is disabled. Haven't tried tire width since it doesn't matter to me. Has anyone tried to go bigger than a 285/75/R16 on a newer U7193? Even when I enetered the tire, my speedo is still off. Trying to tweak it to get closer, but the truck and the predator are not playing nice.

Everything on the truck is stock, except new tires.

The stock speedo is normally off like 3mph. so when u put in the new tire size there will still be 3mph speedo error. I assume this is at 80 ish, and it is 3mph fast?

Finally figured it out! With factory tune and the bigger tires the speedo was 3 mph fast. When I programmed the 87 tune with the bigger tire it was 3-2.5mph slow. I don't know if it is the tune or the truck that is interpreting it wrong. The size that I programmed in the 87 tune to make the speedo within 0.2mph was 285/70R16. If other people experience the same thing may be the tune?

Thanks for everyone input, much appreciated! :D

I have gone 4 size up from the original tire size my truck had, and I have not seen the traction control, kick out as a sign of a problem and I have one of the newer U7193 revision 9r03. Now in my case everything is stock, except for the tires. I have tried running the original tire size on the tuner, even though I been running 285-50-20, and the original tire is 265-70-16. And with either tire set up, I end up being 2 to 3 mile off above.
