I have a 2008 silverado and if im at a dead stop and just punch the gas about half way The tires will spin for a foot or two then it kinda bogs a little then once it gets to about 5 to 10 mph it rips a**. But from a dead stop if i floor it, it bogs right away and then at 5 to 10 mph it rips a** as well. Is this because of Torque Management or is this something else??? any ideas?
sentcha a new tune... see how that one is...

also, when you're punching it like that, you are disabling/turning off your traction control, right??? cuz having the TC still on will do what you're describing...

all of the TM settings availble in your tune are disabled. except for the Traction Control setting. That one will still kill your throttle if you start to spin... unless you turn it off by the button on your dash.

I lowered your throttle position % required to get into PE/WOT mode... so it'll get into PE mode a little earlier than before... i.e. instead of having to be at 77% throttle position for PE to kick in, I lowered it down to 70%... higher rpms (4500+), I lowered it from 65% to 55%... etc etc...

Well my truck is defiantly an 08 and there is no on/off button anywhere in the truck for traction control and when you turn the ignition on and all the warning lights come on, there is nothing that resembles traction control that lights up. Unless the traction control comes on with out any indication light or comes on and doesn't do sh*t then maybe I have it. The tires can spin all day in gravel or even in the rain no problem, so if my truck does have traction control then i would say it does a wonderful job on dry pavement but doesn't work so well in low traction situations, witch is strange because I would think that is where you would need it the most. Also I looked in my owners manual and I quote "Your vehicle MAY have the StabiliTrak system with combines antilock brake, traction and stability control system that help the driver maintain directional control of the vehicle in most driving conditions." Also states "The traction control disable button is located on the instrument panel below the climate controls." The only button under my climate controls is my heated windsheild washer button and I don't think that has anything to do with traction control.

if he doesn't have stabilitrak, then he doesn't have traction control... those 2 come together as an option... it is not standard equipment...

The 4x4 can have Autotrac and/or Stabillitrac.

Autotrac is the auto 4WD setting that pushes power to the front if a slip is detected in the back (assuming Auto is engaged in the 4WD selector)

Stabillitrac is true ABS-linked traction control with gyroscopic sensors to apply selective braking and throttle control to maintain vehicle control. It is an option. If you have it, there should be a disable switch in the vehicle.

OK, I have been reading on here about the TCMgr. I also have an 08 and mine has the traction control button on it. If by turning this off at the button, does it disable the TCM? Have not tried it yet, but the salesman was cool and told me if I felt froggy I can turn the TC button off and do burnouts :?:

No turning it off won't allow you to do burnouts. It will end the control in the situations of a slide, skid, etc. TCM still has control over your ability to launch hard, spin off the line, etc.
