03 cobra Log Load issues

Ok so i am trying to load a Data Log off my hand held to my PC.. this is what i have done.

Down Loaded everything under the sun 2 times unistalled/reinstalled changed my com port 3 times and nothing is working.

I can Upload tunes from DS downloader just fine but when i go to connect with Data viewer it cannot connect to my Hand held just sits there searching com ports for ever..

So i pull the Log with DS DL and save it ... its come up as a non readable file .. i get it opened with The Viewer but its only reading 7 seconds of a 1:11 Log ??

What am i doing wrong i have followed the steps to a T and nothing is working

You can only pull tunes with DS Downloader. What you were pulling through DS Downloader were tunes, not logs.

While the DS Downloader is connected to the Predator the DataViewer cannot talk to it - only one program can control the serial port at a time. Make sure you close DS Downloader before starting up the DataViewer.

I have tried with the DS loader not running and the Viewer still cant find my predator.. is there an update the hand held that i have to have maybe.. i didnt see anything but i could have missed it.. its an 06 unit

Edit: ok i think im an idiot. I have never updated my hand held and see there is a new revision could this be why its not connecting to Data viewer? And if so do i have to put my car back to stock to update the hand held or can i just DL it and plug it in threw DS down loader with my custom tune in the car ?

fat-cat, when you say 06 unit do you mean you purchased it in 2006? If so it likely has older hardware that we do not have an update for at this minute to communicate with the latest version of DataViewer. However, we have a work around. Go here: http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?mo ... lay&pid=12 and download the CMR_DAT_200 file. This is the older logging software. You can upload files to your pc using it, then once done you can use the new DataViewer to open and view the log.

Instructions for uploading a log in the old software:

1. Open software, go into Option, Port settings and set it up.

2. Go into Tools, Get Log File From Predator, put a file name in the box.

3. Connect Predator to PC, go into Options, Troubleshooting, Log upload and hit the center button.

4. Back to the PC, hit the save button and you should see the Predator start to transfer the file. This may take a few minutes.

Once the log has uploaded I like to open and view them in the newer DataViewer software since it works much nicer.

Kevin I have tried the CRM_Dat_200 as well .. it seems that it has the same problem as the File viewer .. it cant find my Hand held. I have changed my port settings baud rates the whole shooting match and it wont connect. I purchased the unit on 05-06 but it could be older ( sitting on the shelf ) is there anything i can do ... reading logs on the Hand held sucks ass as i cant see everything at once.

I could rarely get files using DAT viewer with Vista, I now run XP and have much more success. If you run Vista and have another PC or Laptop kicking with XP it might be worth a shot...

Ok so there is no update for my hand held .. when the part number page shows there is one but its Internal ??? not sure what that means. I have everything that you guys are posting and followed all the links .. why would my predator Connect to DS downloader Fine but not the other 2 programs thats what i have to figure out.

Ok so i finally got the bad boy to work ... and it graphed it all for me.. is there a way to make the log file an excel file now without it looking like gibberish ?

Save the file from CMR_DAT as a log file. Then open that saved log with the DataViewer. Within the DataViewer, select File -> Export to CSV.
