180 stat settings
i have a 2006 charger rt w a CAI im using a 180 stat . my tune is the 91 CAI tune. wat should i set the fan settings to?
RE: 180 stat settings
Can't speak for the other guys, but I keep my LS at 187, and the MS and HS at 196, both with A/C on and off.
RE: 180 stat settings
Where it opens might effect your choice. Everybody calls the Motorad/ValuCraft/Autozone 4128 a 180* T-stat but it opens at 185*. The Jet opens at 180*.

RE: 180 stat settings
I am running the 4128 t-stat, and a customized 93 octane CAI tune. Under normal condtions my EVIC shows 186*F.
Some time ago I inquired of DS what the temperature difference was from FAN-ON to FAN-OFF. The reply was 10*F.
So, in order to keep the low speed fan from running continuously, I have my LS temps set at 197*F and the MS and HS temps set at 207*F.
"It works for me."

Re: RE: 180 stat settings
Yep. I think the fan on to fan off might vary a bit (I've got a 2006 SRT8). I tried mine and the low speed FAN-ON to FAN-OFF seems to be about 4*. That was from very unscientific experimentation. Stand up front and wait for fan on, rush to driver's window and look at EVIC display. Repeat for fan offDESIRAY wrote:I am running the 4128 t-stat, and a customized 93 octane CAI tune. . I set my LS at 191* and HS at 202? It's something people should play around with to get what they like. You're not going to hurt anything.[/quote]
I used Quick's spreadsheet of 192 and 203 (I think he dropped it to 191 and 202 since I saw it last). I have it printed on a piece of paper and I put it in the glovebox with the registration and insurance slip...

Thanks. Those are just my personal preference. I have the Motorad/ValuCraft T-stat that opens at 185*. I think the Jet opens at 180*.

I have a Lingenfelter Failsafe 180* thermostat.... not sure if it opens at 180 or 185? Couldn't be bothered doing the metric conversion and just used the spreadsheet from Quick...seems to have worked for me.
