I see in your signature you have V.9r05, I have 9r07 (the latest) so that might be where the problem is, perhaps the 9r07 allows auto upshift in mode 2 while 9r05 didn't, update to 9r07 and see what mode 2 does for you.CaptainJ wrote:So am I the only one then that Mode 1 and Mode 2 will not auto up shift?

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Transmission modes?
I have an 05 300C 5.7 and there are the 2 modes available using 9r04 and 9r07. Mode 2 is the one I have used and it shifts when I shift it or at the rev limit set by the predator which is adjustable. I think the rev limiter is the key but I could be wrong.

Mine will not shift. The tyranny just disengages at red line. Do I have to change the rev limiter?

When you manually upshift with the autostick it won't shift for you?CaptainJ wrote:Mine will not shift. The tyranny just disengages at red line. Do I have to change the rev limiter?

I will shift when I make it shift. It will not auto up shift.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Transmission mod
That's how it's supposed to work. You find a mode (for me Mode 1) that keeps it from automatically upshifting in autostick mode. Otherwise, if you want it to automatically upshift, you go back to stock on the autostick part.
It makes it more like a manual transmission which depends on you to shift it. With this method and a little practice I can shift at 5500, 5800, 6000, or whatever.

Re: RE: Transmission modes?
Why not just push the ESP button to off on the dyno too rather than disabling in the predator, that makes no sense either or am I missing something?Quick wrote:First I think it's sort of like a work in progress. They're also sort of homing in on what to put in there and what's supportable. I think in very early releases they allowed you to disable the knock sensors. I suppose the idea was for people who had false knock. Like from aftermarket valve springs for example. So then a few people blew up their motors by turning the knock sensors turned off. So Diablo decided they should probably take that option out. Too dangerous for the uninformed. I think there is/was some issue with our cars on the dyno and ESP. I believe the option was there for use on a dyno (only).
Why do you think that a NO-ESP feature is something you need? Can't you use the button on the dash? I believe the NO-ESP feature on the Predator will disable your ABS where the dash button will not. There is no reason you want abs disabled while driving the car.
I see it as a sort of balancing act for Diablo. They want to sell the tuner to the general public but if they make it safe enough to sell at Kmart it's not going to be very useful.
RE: Re: RE: Transmission modes?
Because it only disables ESP 50%.

RE: Re: RE: Transmission modes?
It depends. Some years and cars the ESP button functions differently. On my 2006 SRT8
press and release - removes straight line traction control (can spin rear tires). Reduces the threshold for intervention and the amount of intervention for lateral traction control. ABS engaged.
press and hold - removes straight line traction control. removes lateral traction control. ABS engaged.
Disabling ESP with the Predator will disable ABS. With my button I don't think there's a reason to disable with the predator for a dyno.

What is your basis for that? why even have the stupid button then........CaptainJ wrote:Because it only disables ESP 50%.
RE: Re: RE: Transmission modes?
For me it is a moot point. I have the NO ESP mod.
I can do burn outs, donuts, and crash into guard rails whenever I have it disabled. (ABS still works.)

Re: RE: Re: RE: Transmission modes?
I've often wondered that as well. What good is the button if it only turns down ESP? It seems like it should either be on or off. In my friend's 2002 Firehawk the ESP button turns it completely off.ViperGuy wrote:What is your basis for that? why even have the stupid button then........CaptainJ wrote:Because it only disables ESP 50%.
