New ECM

I've had some electrical gremlins and the dealer may be replacing my ECM. Will i have to have my predator unlocked by diablo and reset if they put a different ECM in the car or is it married to the vin code somehow?

yes, if you get a new ECM, the predator will still be locked to your old one....

you can't get to it and restore the original backup to it?? you didn't restore the backup before you brought it to the dealer??

I restored and put it back to original before I took it in to them. Am I okay then?

You are good to go.

The Pred will take a new backup as if it is the first time it has met your car.

didn't mention that at the beginning... hahaha...

yeah, if you restored the original backup before it was replaced, you're all set man... your predator is unlocked and can be used on any other supported vehicle/ECM at this point.
