File Integrity Error

Post by flybyu »

Tried to upload a custom tune 97kb in file size in a .2cl format and got this
error. It was in the process of uploading and got to about 15% when it
said the File Integrity error and then said Upload failed?
It then said something like VIN not found and then went into the auto
restore mode and reflashed my car with OEM tune that is backed up in the
unit on first install?

I flashed the unit with the 108 Predator interface and was a .2cl file of 97kb
in size that Mike supplied me for my 1999 Vette, M6.
On uploading to the Predator I never received any errors and it said transmission
was complete?

I know that you can do a flash of only the partial image or code that is only
needed to be updated but can you do a full write 500kb with the new
tune on the file?
Dont know if the original file was bad or it was because durning the transfer
if it became corrupt, does the software verify the uploaded once installed on
the Predator?

I'm not sure why the error occured.
Email me the .2cl file and the backup file and I'll have a new one made Monday to take care of it.

Thanks

I thought i answered this in another thread. First of all I would like to know what software version your using on your U7198. Depending on the software your predator has depends on which file type .2cl or .crg that you send to your predator.

What you answered was the question as to why the file that was sent to me was different in size to the one that is downloaded
from the cars computer.
I sent Mike a 500kb file that was in the .crg extension, he modified it for my 99 Vette M6 that had Callaway Intake, Kooks headers,
Kooks Cat'd Xpipe a Corsa Pace Car Pro Exhaust.
I did not know with your unit that you can also flash the different bytes that are need to update the code on the car to give
you the changes you need.
Thinking that the tuned file sent back to be should be the same (approx 500kb) as the downloaded backup of the car.
I asked the question why it was only 97kb, as well with the .2cl extension compared to the .crg when the backup is read.

I understand now from your reply in the other part of the forum the difference in the extensions based
on the software version of the units.
Here are the specs you need, thanks for the help.

Bios ver 6.01
Hardware 1.01
Software ver 2.13

Were you looking at the file on your PC and getting 500kb on the PC or were you seeing 500kb in your email as an attachment?

The backup file that the Predator reads from my car on initial install was 497kb, I downloaded to my PC with the Predator interface
and sent it to Mike. He then tuned for my mods and sent a file back to me that was 97kb in size and a .2cl file extension.
I loaded the .2cl 97kb file to the predator and then tried to flash to the car and at 15% or so got the error.

Hi Mike, thank you very much this one worked fine as the CAGs is gone now.
I willl let you know how it works out, I am going to log with my LS1M scanner but the KR is zero.
Dont know if I should ask here or start another thread but can I adjust that new tune under "Modify Tune"
in the menus.
1. If I want to adjust the timing a bit as I run 94 octane up here all the time in the car.
2. Also when I install a 160 deg stat can I adjust for that in the modified tune that is in the car computer now?
3. Might be a stupid question but does the CAGs defeat kill the Skip Shift light on the dash also.?

Thanks again for the great support!

Dont think it should do that...is it just for a quick blip at low speeds?

Yes it does go on for a short blip in 1st gear.
I will check it today and see if it forces me to 4th or not, but I doubt it.
Also checked in the "Modify Tune" and it was set to "Off"

The CAGs was still locking me out of 2nd gear at low rpm so I decided
to modify the Diablo tune and rewrite the CAGs "OFF" feature and now
it works.
Must not have taken the write or the file that was sent to me did not
have the CAGs turned to off, even though it said in the menu.
Either way its off for sure now, no light.
