Hi guys, just bought a U7130 for my 2005 cummins (in the mail haven't got it yet). My questions are which tune am I going to get the best mileage out of keping in mind snowmobiling is right around the corner and I'm gonna be pulling my sleds on a two place and possibly hooking up to a four place occassionally. I don't want to have to retune everytime I hook up a different trailer and was wondering if the per/econ tune will be ok for the loads I am pulling (max 4000lbs) and what do you think my egts will do on this tune with that load?? Should I just put it tow tune and leave it there and if so can I see any increase in mileage at all or are some of the guys correct on here saying they get worse mileage on tow?? I also have an AFE stage 2 cold air on it and a straight 4" exhaust. Not looking for alot more power as the truck does evrything I need just a little boost and a mpg increase would be nice. Sorry about the long post and thanx.

do you have an auto or a 6spd. The 6 spd my slip due to the extra hp on performance while towing, the power is awsome but if you keep your foot in it for a long pull your egt's will get up there. If you are towing more than 8000lbs I think Diablo recommends you use the tow tune, if you have the 6spd and you can drive responsibly the extreme is where i get my best mpg. Have fun the tool is is great, when you power up the unit see what version is has loaded on there you may need to update to newest revisions, it has the key counts fixed so if you ever have to go to the dealer for warranty work they will never know.

The 100 hp economy/performance tune is good to tow up to 8000 pounds.

I was able to tell how hard I was on my truck by the feel. I could feel the stock Torque converter didn't like it when I was really getting on the truck. Its not hard to run on perf without hurting stuff. the truck just works way better. Just know that when you tell it to go it is going to go and TC be dammed. As far as getting hot they do get hot, so put on your short list some guages, I was surprised how hot the trannys get in town driving. Once the TC is locked then all is good. have fun

I would say use the perf tune. I run totally on extreme and might get the rkl back on. I pull a fith wheel and also a dump trailer with combined weight of 10,000kgs. I am happy with my milage on extreme and love the power being there. I have not ran on tow enough to know about milage. I wish I would actually get what my overhead says. But alot of cars would like to get what my overhead says. with a gps as my milage counter I have made 20mpg imperial. Probably 18US.
