Need full owners manual

Post by Zelsdorf »

I am getting a little tired of the run a round. If you do not want this thing back, get me a full manual. The one that came with it is small and contains nothing of value. I paid nearly $400.00 for this thing and I do not want to play with you on the internet to get information that should have been included with this device. If I sound pissed it is because I am.[/code]

Or spend 5 minutes going through the website to find answers to most any of your questions.

Is your tool a U 7145? If so I have a link to a manual. I am with you; it takes three or four Emails to get the time of day. The moderators write back with cryptic and sometime inane responses, and almost never respond to all your questions, or follow threads through to a conclusion! I have found it necessary to begin new threads for old questions, because moderators refuse to answer direct questions? Don't know why, but it is disconcerting

It is a U 7145 and I would deeply appreciate your help. I sent an email to one of these people letting them know I am not a child and will not be treated as one. I do not know who they think they are, but I am informing everyone i know what to expect from the support for this firm.

go to the top of this website, then mouse over support, then mouse down and click on downloads. Wait for the page to re-load. Then go to the part number drop down menu on the left. Scroll over the U7145 and click on it. wait for the page to re-load.

You are now on the downloads page for all software and documentation pertaining to your Predator. This includes update software and instructions, data viewing software and instuctions, usb adaptor pc kit software and instructions, custom program import/export instructions, and of course the user manual that you are looking for.

Now that you know how to get there you will be able to see if any new updates are posted there and download and install them if desired. If I just posted a link of the user manual file, then you would have never known about the other resources contained on that downloads page.

you think it is disconcerting and insane now...

imagine what it was like years ago when there were only two techs answering the phone, and there was NO forum for customers. It was a long hold time in the queue to get through. Many customers would just get frustrated, hang-up, and return products for issues that were easily resolved.

The forum is a great tool. It can be cumbersome, but it is much easier this way than having to sit on the phone on hold during normal business hours when you and I are busy at our own jobs. This way, the phone calls are for real emergencys, like downed trucks/cars, forced original backup restores, etc. and the forum is for less urgent issues and you can post while not on the job and during the weekend. The forum also allows end-users to help each other out and give recommendations from hands on experience.

I agree that sometimes, tech support fails to read the entire thread and DOES give a complete answer to your question but the answer seems unclear or incomplete because they make assumptions about your level of understanding of the situation. For instance, they sometimes answer things in a way that they would if they were talking to a colleague rather than an end-user or newbie. Therefore, they fail to provide the kind of setup in their answers necessary to clarify the issue and this makes them seem unclear and useless.
