06 R/T 5.7L LT and ST Knock Retard Measurements

I have an 06 R/T and the gas in Ontario, Canada seems to be of fairly high quality, I don't think I have ever seen a LT KR reading on my Predator logs. I have never seen above 5 on the ST KR and that was during a WOT shift. So the question is, can my ECM report LT Knock or does the predator show 0 because my car does not report it and never did? Enquiry Minds want to know. I have been told by vendors of various "logging" tools that the 06 R/T's DO NOT log LT Knock Retard. If it does not, would ST knock retard show a higher number than the 08's which do include LT KR?

This has me a little worried. The 08's will move KR to the LT side which will update the adaptive tables to prevent engine damage over the Long Term. I guess if my car does not report LT, the Knock Retard would stay with the ST tables and retard timing in "real time only" I hope

I think all LX cars use LT knock in the PCM. I have an 07 CSRT8 which uses LT knock and I had it turned off in all of my tunes.

Most of the vendors are saying that LT is not listed on their PID list for 06. DashHawk, DashDaq, etc. but DS has it on their Predator but I have never seen any LT so that means all is good or my car does not record it

I would say during the ST Knock is the only time you will see LT. Meaning if the ST knock is very low it will not log into LT.

I have an 06 RT and also have never seen any LT knock. My ST knock is very low, though. Only about 2.5-4 and even then only a brief spike around 3800RPM at WOT.

Yeah, ive seen that the 5.7L doesnt get much knock. The Srt's on the other hand have a ton of knock. I found most of my knock to be false knock when we did the CMR tune. Just a noisy engine. Nothing wrong with the engines but they are noisy. We had to desensitize the sensors a bit. DID NOT TURN THEM OFF!!! Dont do that!!!

I am guessing desensitizing the sensors is a CMR thing right? Where does that leave those of us who do not have any CMR tuners available in our area? I have been going round and round trying to get my AFR right while getting rid of the KR... Problem is when I add enough fuel to eliminate the KR my AFR is around 11 to 1 - way too rich and costing me HP.

The knock sensors are desensitized already in the Predator tunes.
