Vehicle not Supported. 2003 chevy avalanche + U7193

I Purchased my U7193 friday, 2 days after being told not only by your site, this forum, and the guy where i bought it, that it works in my truck.

Plug it in, follow all the instructions, parking break, accessories off, etc.
The moment it tries to communicate with my truck "vehicle not supported"

on a 2nd note. i thought this may be because my predator needed updates?
i folllowed all the documentation instructions (includeing the forum linked .doc files), installed drivers, etc.
My computer knows exactly where the predator is hiding, but your software (DSDL) refuses to connect.
DSDL even notices that there IS infact something in that com port.

Can anyone help?

check your pc settings and see what com port # is assigned to your usb cable... change it to 1, 2, 3, or 4 if not set to one of those already.

already done, i probably fiddled with it for a good 8 hours..

heres the deal:
i have a DS cable, and the proper driver for the part number.. (U7778)
it is infact on Com4, at the moment, but ive also tried every number from 2-7. ive matched all the settings as far as the USB to serial transfer rates, flow controls, etc, in the device properties to exactly what DSDL says it requires..

DSDL does infact see that the predator is attatched (i.e: that comm port dissapears if i unhook my predator, which matches to my settings in the device manager)
the Hyperterm soloution in the help file DOES infact send back a message when performed.
i CAN retreive data from it with the PC connect utility(GM03-04 predator interface 1.08 ), but cannot send.
All firewalls ARE infact turned off, and windows security center and all virus scanners are turned off.

im wondering if my internal USB hub isnt fully compatible with the prolific cable?
I thought about just trying to hook it up via my COM1 serial port with a standard 9pin cable, will this work?

The major issue is right now..
Is this going to work in my truck if i can manage to make it update with a newer .crom?
Like i said.. Out of the box it does not infact support my avalanche.

Be a shame if i threw $450 down the shitter on this.

Sorry for double post, but i may have found an alternative, was hoping for some details.

I decided to check out the online store, to see if there was another model that would better suit my vehicle..

I found model number "U7195", which shows as only supporting 2003 GM trucks in the product section, includeing my avalanche.
This however is not what comes up if i put my year, make, and model in to the vehicle search.

Would this be a better option, seeing how so far i cant seem to make the U7193 even want to tune my truck.

Sounds like you have an older U7193 for 04-05 trucks?
What revision is on the tool?

Problem solved.
After many hours of attempting to make it update, etc. i called the dealer i purchased it from (JBs), and they graciously offered me another U7193 as a trade in, of course, if the replacement worked in my truck. Just so we could rule out manufacturer defect, or perhaps damage to the product itself.

Tuned it right in the parking lot, he left me with the predador that works.

Perhaps it was just an early revision, but im thinking it was damaged in some way due to the fact that it didnt reconise my truck, and definitely would not connect to my PC; even though i tried every possible variation on every setting recommended by online/supplied documentation.
