Re: RE: Update on DRC
No, but the SRT4 stuff was too easy to pass up as we already had the code cracked as they use basically the same PCM as the HEMI cars.lxman1 wrote:No, but they just released on for a very low volume SRT-4 Neon? Those are only a distant memory now.
Still wanting one for my 08 Hemi RAM. Must be one tough code to crack
Plus its not just SRT4 Neons, it will support the 10s of thousands of PT cruiser turbos as well....
As for the 08, I will have one here on the dyno tomorrow, I'll post results for you to show that there is no problem there.

RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
Lets also not forget that the SRT4, like all SRTs, is a performance based vehicle. Its meant to be tweaked on. The Ram has zero performance aspirations whatsoever. Just be happy that DS is choosing to support them at all.

RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
ten times as many people own and modify ram trucks than do srt4's. superchips sold thousands of truck programmers and most all ram owners i know bought it and hate it. as for the pt gt, i will run one any time any place and give him a good view of the taillightsMike_Levy wrote:Lets also not forget that the SRT4, like all SRTs, is a performance based vehicle. 04 ram reg cab, srt front clip, headman lt headers, hedman y-pipe(catless), flowmaster muscle truck dual side exit, mac cai, airaid spacer, pos sc tune, wires, plugs etc. zex sitting in box waiting for tuner
Re: RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
Now that is just an ignorant statement!!! It's a HEMI dude! It's built for performance... Just cause you have your predator and are happy with it don't be so smugMike_Levy wrote:Lets also not forget that the SRT4, like all SRTs, is a performance based vehicle. Its meant to be tweaked on. Mike, would you post those results for the 08 DR on the HTC forum? Thank you....mikel wrote:No, but the SRT4 stuff was too easy to pass up as we already had the code cracked as they use basically the same PCM as the HEMI cars.lxman1 wrote:No, but they just released on for a very low volume SRT-4 Neon? RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
I don't think it was Mike_Levy's intent to sound smug. He has a point though... Let's not lose sight of the facts...DCX intentions with the RAM was not to build a performance street machine (unless you own a RAM SRT10), it's a pickup truck first and foremost, built for hauling, towing, etc. Those who choose to modify their truck for performance reasons are doing so outside the reason the truck was designed and built. The SRT4's, SRT8's, LX R/T's (Charger, Magnum, 300C, Challenger) etc. were definitely not designed to haul and tow... they were built for the sole purpose of performance and/or luxury in their respective classes. It also boils down to how easy the ECM was to crack. Some are just harder to reverse-engineer than others... it's just that simple. As a computer hardware engineer, I deal with this sort of thing all the time, not to mention I dabble in various areas of "cracking" hardware for my personal use (cell phones, PDA's, GPS, etc.). Some of the RAM folks are wanting fuel economy and towing as a tune on their Predator's, whereas my tuner has no such "fuel economy" tune (I WISH...
)... we only get performance settings based on fuel octane. I am sure that is where the bugs are showing up. How does DS modify the tune for the best fuel economy in one tune and then in another tune give higher performance plus the fact that there are different octane fuels too. Many, many more variables with trucks.
IMHO!!!
IMHO!!!

I will see what I can do....it is being strapped to the dyno as I type this.HemiSilva wrote:Mike, would you post those results for the 08 DR on the HTC forum? Re: RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
I'm sorry, I don't buy it... It's just like saying your Magnum is a stationwagon and not meant to be a performance item - THEY PUT A HEMI IN IT FOR A REASON!fordomatic69 wrote:I don't think it was Mike_Levy's intent to sound smug. I'm sorry for the pissing contest and don't really mean it to be but somone should tell those guys I'm made look stupid in their mustang GT's I don't have a performance vehicle......

RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
FWIW guys, truck tuners make up more than half of our total sales....so trucks are the single most important segment that we support.
The go-fast, custom tune stuff is really just a bonus....

Re: RE: Re: RE: Update on DRC
Ding! You guys are looking at it from the wrong viewpoint. You're thinking of the type of car. DS is thinking numbers. It doesn't matter what the car or engine is. It's only the potential number of units that can be sold into that market. There are a bazillion Ford Taurus's out there but not too many Taurus owner's are inclined to tune them. On the other hand, given the situation today, I suspect (sadly) that increased mpg has become a major selling point.mikel wrote:FWIW guys, truck tuners make up more than half of our total sales....so trucks are the single most important segment that we support.
