Application of 87 octane causes computer to throw codes

Post by paultippit »

I finally got my tuner back from repair (don't even get me started because I bought it brand new and it needed a repair.. go figure) and put the 87 tune on it. If I drive around for about 30 minutes, my truck starts throwing codes until I restore the factory tune.

example... drove about 15 minutes and both the brake light and the ABS light came on. It will then stay on every time I use my truck until restore the factory settings.

My truck is an 07 with less than 10k miles. This only happens when I use the predator.

So far my experiences with Diablo Sport are very poor and it seems that I bought a $400 paper weight. Can anyone please tell me what is going on? I thought these tunes were tested so that they would not do stuff like this.

Yes, congratulations, you've bought a $400 paper weight.

Did you change tire sizes? That is usual reason for ABS code.

oh... and the ABS light and the brake light both come one. I think tomorrow I will plug m OBDII reader and get the exact code number it throws when I am running the 87 octane tune.

Is the SES light coming on as well?
If not, there should be no codes, and if so, you can read them with the Predator.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks

No, the SES light is not coming on. Since this reply, I have contacted Diablo sport support and given them all the information. I am about to try a tune they recently sent me. Wish me luck.

I have been working with Diablo Sport for 3 months now. I have had the unit send back twice (due to it arriving with poor wiring). This still happens. I have been sent different tunes and have even be told to back date my the ROM on my unit. This still does not resolve the problem. I cannot put a tune on my truck without error lights coming on. I am tired of dealing with this. I want my money back so I can go find a product that works. Please direct me to someone authorized to do so. This is ridiculous. My last alternative will be filing a claim in small claims court of Palm Beach county.
