New predator, using on 06 GTO with LS2. I get the reading above. It wont read VIN or basically communicate with the car at all.
Unit has version 7r97....what can I do to rectify this?

RE: Unable to read p/n of first calibration file
make sure you have your key on... don't start the car, but make sure the key is turned on... the only time I've ever seen that message is when I've forgotten to turn my key on.
also, you mention your using it on an 06 goat, so it must be part number U7191... so you should definitely update it with the new revision that's available on the site - revision 8r07. you'll need the power adapter and serial cable.

I plan on updating but have to buy the cables. It would be nice to drive to Radio Shack with my new predator tune in place though. I do have the key in the "on" position. Tried it in "ACC" and "ON" and every which way.
I did NOT remove any fuses. I have been told that it is not necessary with my car. All electronics are off, doors closed, parking brake on...still nothing.

Spoke with Tech support, the unit is defective and I have to return it. But of course the place where I bought it has none left so I have to wait, major bummer.
