Hey everybody,
I just received my new Predator model u7140 for my 05 mustang gt and I have a few questions. I have an S&B cold air kit which is not supported by the Predator. Are there any canned CAI tunes that might work well with this CAI?
For the time being, I have loaded the 93 ocatane tune with the MAF curve adjusted 5% and have taking out 2 degrees timing global (I only have 91 octane available). This tune is working really well so far but I'd like to datalog and check to see how lean/rich I'm running. What sensors should I select in the datalog menu to be recorded to accomplish this? Sorry if this not making sense, I'm an old 5.0 guy and am completely new to these flash tuners and there amazing capabilities!
Any advice/tips are greatly appreciated!

also...........would there be any benefit/power gain by switching intakes? Something like a jlt or a c&l? Or would the cost outweigh the horsepower gain?

RE: datalogging questions 05 mustang gt u7140
Yes, the easy answer is that the JLT or C&L will likely make more power, as they are some of the best power making CAIs we have tested.
To use the S&B properly, will require a custom tune done either on a dyno or by extensive logging on the street to dial in the MAF curve for that intake since we have never flow tested one to develop a curve for it.
Thanks

ok that kinda answered my question..........what do I need to be looking for when I datalog on the street to help dial this in? MAF curve? WOT fuel? Knock sensors? Thanks again for the help!mikel wrote:Yes, the easy answer is that the JLT or C&L will likely make more power, as they are some of the best power making CAIs we have tested.

can I get some help here?
Re: RE: Re: RE: datalogging questions 05 mustang gt u7140
I have a tune for the S&B cai going into the next revision of the U7140. You'll be able to load this update into your Predator for free as soon as it is available. Keep checking the downloads page periodically, it will be up soon.grngt50 wrote:can I get some help here?

S & B intake
I also have an s & b cai on a 06 gt. I'm looking forward to the s & b tune. Do you know if I can download that tune when it comes out without getting the previous updates? I have never updated my tuner. I also have my maf curve at +5. Will I need to reset that paramater before i install the s & b tune?
Re: S & B intake
The s&b tune will be on the latest revision, so you'll have to update in order to get the tune. Before you can update your tuner to the most current revision, you'll have to return the stock tune to your car. I think when I did this and went to reinstall my modified tune all of the parameters had been reset. But you'll want to make sure that the MAF curve is at the stock setting when you install the new s&b tune, otherwise your car would likely run rich and you wont get the full benefit of the custom tunewburners wrote:I also have an s & b cai on a 06 gt.
