Tunes Listed in the Predator for RT Challenger

My question is this. When these predator tuners come out to support the RT Challengers with the 5.7 Manual will they have specific tunes? For instance. I will have a BBK CAI, BBK midpipe with hi-flow cats and a flowmaster catback. Is there a pre-tuned parameter for this setup so I don't have to take it to a CMR or is it best to take it to them to get the best tune possible? I also would like to raise the speed limit limiter, Raise the Rev limiter and turn the traction control completely off (apparently it only turns off partially when you push the traction control "off" button in the RT Manual Challengers. This stupid traction control is the most annoying thing in the world...it's always causing the car to bog when I try and take of into a heavily trafficed area. What will the predators offer for these things I've mentioned?

I know you want an answer from diablo on the tunes but turning off the esp is not advisable with the predator, atleast not on the 07 and 08 5.7. any sharp turns with the esp disabled puts the car in limp mode. What has worked on the auto. 5.7 is turning the ignition key to the start position when you are going about 10 mph, no the starter does not engage, but it disables the esp. with the diablo tunes the torque mgt. is greatly reduced and the esp does not do much if anything.

Interesting. So, the same program that controls that ESP controls the cornering stabilizers and such as well? That sure seems silly. Why would they design a system where the traction control and suspension components are combined? They should know people like turning off the traction control on most of these cars and control it themselves. The SRT8 has the ability to shut it off completely from my understanding. I guess it's their way of pushing you to spend the extra money for the SRT8 if you're a musclehead. Of cousre it helps if you know this before you guy the car and I didn't.

Yes the wheel position sensors (I think) are incorperated into the stability program. Had my car go into limp mode a few times with the esp turned off thru the preditor. Try the key trick though, it might work for you. If it works your bas/esp light and mr. sqwiggles light will come on.

Okay...so let me see if I have this right. While I am driving at around 10 MPH I need to turn the ignition all the way over like I'm starting the car? How long do I hold it? Will there be any noises? What exactly is this doing? Is this something that Dodge devised to turn off the ESP or is this just some kind of byproduct error caused from turning the car on while your driving? Especially with lights coming on that way. Do you know what exactly is happening when you do that? I don't know..I asking.

The electronics all go dark, come back on and the ESP and BAS light comes on... there'll be a few chimes, also.

Turn it over for a few seconds, if it works, you'll know by the lights. When you restart the car, all is back to normal.

It's an Easter egg type of thing.... an unsupported function.

I think you also lose the electronic "Posi" unless you have a true limited slip diff

Not exactly. The computer calculates the vector of the car by individual wheel speed. When it is determined the car is sliding sideways beyond the normal parameters, the appropriate individual brake is applied along with possibly cutting some engine power (IIRC).

Why it is: stupid people do stupid things. I've seen a kid in a fast car trying to be cool, drifting around the corner. What really happened: the car was too powerful for him, he went through a gas station full throttle (missed everything, by golly!) back onto the road, over corrected, back towards the curb, over corrected yet again (why was he still on the throttle I thought to myself as I realized he wasn't just in a hurry to get gas...?) and went into traffic waiting at the red light. CRASH! Another salvage Mustang available.

What it does: protects people and innocent bystanders from out of control cars. It cannot overcome the laws of physics, or REALLY stupid people.

Throw the car into a controlled slide in a controlled, closed course... it'll straighten you out quickly. Annoying at times, though....


ESP off = straight line smoky tire burnouts OK, drifting not allowed.

Key trick = Drifting allowed

The Predator relaxes the parameters for ESP, allowing more freedom than stock.

Well, I get what you mean but the fact is that I've had Mustangs and Monte Carlo SS's all my life and those never had an ESP function and I NEVER had those kinds of problems...not in the rain or anything else. Sometimes they should give the experienced people that have driven for a while credit. Maybe the young ones need to leave the ESP on. I know it's aggrivated me on serveral occasions when I go to take off around a corner getting on to a main stretch of road....I go to gun it and then I feel the car kind of start to bog...you can hear the engine trying to rev and GO but then it's like the car is being held there by some invisible force. I do NOT like the ESP function.
