Nee d help!! DS Downloader wont accept my stock tune!!

Hey....

I've got an 05 Mustang GT with Predator #u7140
I just received my custom tunes from Bamachips and cant get my original backup to download onto DS.......I keep getting an error message saying
"There was a failure retrieving the tune from your tool. The error reported was "Please use the 'Performance Tune' menu to read your 'Original Backup' before exporting.'

What am I doing wrong? Someone please help, I'm dying to put these tunes on my car!!!!

what tune is in your car right now?

ok, you need to hook up to your car, select a performance tune, and let it save a copy of the original backup tune back to itself.

you don't have to go all the way through the diablo tune install - after it makes a copy of the original backup, you can disconnect.

once that is done, you should be able to import the new custom tune from bama into the predator with no problem.

the predator has to have a copy of the original backup tune in it before it will let you import custom tunes.

once you restore the original backup to your car, it gets erased out of the predator, so that's why you need to let it save a copy of it again.

yeah I'm not the brightest guy...........thanks for the response! I figured it out shortly after posting up. I had returned my car to stock to update the revision on the Predator, then I thought I'd snag my new tunes.

But HELLO........how can DS download the stock backup when it's in the car!!! lol ...... thanks again fellas!!

nevermind, got that squared away too. Any who is considering a custom tune from Bamachips should do it!! Night and day difference, car is sick fast now!!
