Trinity Feature Suggestion
what about a trinity feature where, after you settle into a cruise mode, you hit a "Cruise Start", then "Cruise End" button, and it gives you recommendations on tune settings.
I hear some customer/Predator user has already developed software and algorithms that can do that.....

hmmmm....
maybe said customers/developers could "license" said existing application technology to Diablosport for generous fee.... to either be incorporated into Trinity device, or for said application to be included and distributed on diablosport's software cd that is shipped with Trinity device...
interesting...

who are those people....(???)
said developers probably have said web site that would allow for free updates to said application....
now i said it.

DSLR-1000 from the app store.....LOL.
I been thinking about this, but how could it work?
Dont you guys need the .csv from the DV to run the app?
How would they get the .csv without going to the laptop to upload the log, and if they had to do that, why not just run DSLR while there, rather than loading the .csv to a mem card then uploading it to the Trinity...?
See what I'm saying? Am I totally lost? (wouldn't be the first time, lol!)

well, to do it all in the trinity itself, you'd have to incorporate the code from the dataviewer that save's .log files as .csv's... so once the log is saved, and you select to get your cruise data, it could convert the log data to csv format and then run the dslogredux algorithms to give you the results on it...
or, instead of making the logs be saved as .log files, just have it be saved as a .csv format to begin with... so when it records the log, it would record/save it in csv file from the start... then the redux code could process it very easily...
or, if Johnny C thinks thats too much work at this stage of the game, we could work something out where DSLogRedux could be a Diablosport "sponsored" application that you could then include in the cd distributions you're including with all the Trinity's...
I'm sure Frank might have other thoughts/ideas about how to do it, and even about just getting it included on your software distro... so we'll see what his thoughts are once he chimes in here...

whether the data already exists, statically, in a file, OR it is processed as a continuous stream of data really doesn't matter. The algorithm is largely the same. In one case it processes and rolls thru the data "after the fact". In the other, it would perform calcs sequentially.
EDIT... |
The corrolary would be: You are counting parked cars at a sports stadium. You COULD wait till all the cars are parked, then run thru the lot and count them all. OR, you could have an entrance and exit. COunt the cars going in as they go in, AND count the cars as they are leaving, as they leave. At any time, two phone calls will tell ya how many cars are in the lot.
DSLogRedux runs thru the lot. On trinity, we would be counting at the gates. But the math is the same.
EDIT ^^^
In the case of trinity, if the data were streaming in, it would just have to be processed sequentially, with some parameters being summed and cached for the final average calculations once the "cruise" is terminated --- then, the final averages and calculated values would have to be used to make the recommendation on the adjustment(s).
Now, a big chunk of my app, from a programming perspetive, is error trapping. This makes sense, as I really have NO control over what the csv file will look like--- how many parameters, what order they appear in, if there are the right ones, how many data points, etc. That is an unknown until DSLOGREDUX parses the file.
With TRINITY, that piece dissappears, as TRINITY controls the parameters, the order, etc.. It would be the same everry time, and the user has no input to that funtionality (ideally). The unit "knows" what it needs.
It wouldn't be THAT big a change, but it would require some work. IF I were collaborating with a DS programmer, I am thinking less than 2 man days to lock down the apporach (that would probably be a good guess-timate, or ROM)
EDITED. Looked at it this AM and thought I'd add some more color commentary --- (as I have been known to do on occasion)

however, just remembered, this will only work for GM vehicles....
so, software distro "license rights" on the diablosport cd sounds more and more like a viable option.... heh...
