No noticable improvement with the Predator so far...

I own an Excursion 7.3 2001 and purchased a Predator a couple of summers ago to improve fuel economy. I have tried it out a couple of times with no luck. So far I can not see any noticeable advantage in fuel economy. I am only interested in mpg.

I tried it again on my last tank and lost about 10% in fuel economy, it is running around 14.5 mpg. The engine also started acting up, died 4 times and began sending me codes.

While the economy tune was on it was giving me code “P0678 Cylinder 8 glow plug circuit,â€

Is the jury still out? I don't see any posts that support an improvement over the older tunes. Do you have a thread with a customer suggesting this is a good idea before I go spending another $100 on a tuner that I never really saw much of an improvement with in the first place. Please don't over read what I am saying. I am not mad and think this forum is nice. It is just a bummer to spend another 100 bucks.

P.S. The check engine light came back on. I figured it would and was not related to the tuner. I will scan it tonight and see what code it is throwing off.

I just got my programmer back from the memory upgrade.It came with the 9r03 installed in it.I just noticed that on Friday there was a new crom file released,is this new file to correct the transmission shift point issues?If not,is there anyone having issues with the Transmission not shifting before 3000 rpm? The power band is awsome,just needs a little work on the shifting.Thanks

I went ahead and installed the 9r04 crom..much better on the tranny shifting.power feels great also.Thanks guys..guess mine made it out the door a little too quick..lol.later.

There's someone.... As for the rest the older tunes are waaaay old and there's much more optimized tunes for it now... The reason for the upgrade is because the memory is bigger in the tool.
