Torque mgmt settings z06 2004 Vette

Post by ls6vette »

Hi Mike,

I took a look at this parameter with the tool.

I cannot tell what the Performance tune settings are with your "basis performance tune.

The choices are:

Abuse mode time limit off/on/no change

% Tq Reduction vs RPM off/on/no change

Upshift Tq reduction off/on/no change

There are no numbers or percents, or slider switches or anything.

Would you please find out for me what the settings are or should be with the Predator performance tune loaded?

How do I confirm that these (Predator performance tune settings) are REALLY installed in the pcm?

Is there any additional adjustment that I can make to boost things a little?

When the torque mgmt systems of the pcm operate, what sensors or parameters TRIGGER the torque management to take place.

Stick shift car!!!!

Thanks.

:)

Those three parameters you listed do not affect a Z-06, the only TM parameter that affects it is turned off in the diablo tune. That table is one that tells the pcm how much timing to pull for TM, it is zeroed out in the Z-06 tunes.
So i would not worry about those, they are always left stock unless you set them to off in the predator.
One easy way to determine the tune is in the vehicle is that your CAGS should be gone. The Z-06, if stock has a pretty optimized tune already, the LS6 does not like any additional timing in stock trim so i would not touch that, you could try to lean it out a little and see if that make a difference in the butt dyno.

Hi Johan. Thanks for the post.

In fact, Mike & I & the GM tuner figured out that in the 04 z06 tune the cags is NOT turned off. You have to go into modify parameters to turn it off.

I think it surprised us all.

That is specifically why I want to VERIFY that TM is OFF with the Predator Performance Tune.

How would I VERIFY that it is OFF?

Thanks.

The real only way for someone to verify that the TM is off is to look at the file itself, specially in an manual trans vehicle, a automatic vehicle you can log certain things to look at it but it is not that obvious on an manual trans vehicle. If you want, you can always send me the file and i can verify it for you.

Do you have a step/by/step write up on how I do that?

I will email you some instructions.
What you will do is follow the part about 'reading extra tune'.
Export this tune to your PC and email it to Johan or myself.
