Air Bag light and brake light coming on

Post by MBR »

I've got a 2005 5.9L truck that i've been running the predator on for a year now and every now and then the air bag light (or ABS and brake) will pop up and you'll hear the door chime "ding" when Im accelerating maybe 40-50% throttle or hard on it. It'll go away and not do it sometimes for a weeks, sometime days, until now it started doing it daily. It always alters between the air bag light then the next time it flashes it will be the brake light and the ABS at the same time......

I've tried r26 all the way up to the current tune and NONE of them help the problem. I've tried installing the original backup and is still does it. The only reason I still think its the tuner is because it started the day I installed the first tune.

Any ideas??

It also still has this problem on stock tune and ANY of the diablo settings from a year ago....

I have never seen this happen to any one else....makes me think it must be an issue with your truck?

I have had the same problem with my last 2 2005 dodges exactly. My trucks throttle will also hang up if it is not in gear.

Air bag, and brake lights

Post by ger »

I have an 04.5 3500 and also have the u7130. I have the air bag and brake lights come on when in tow mode and went back to factory setting and the lights stayed on for a couple hrs then went out is this common?

I have a problem with CELs coming on when the programmer is installed too. When I try to use the predator to read them, I get no codes. I clear the code and the light goes away, but it always comes back, even with just the towing puck stacker tune.

No problems just running the puck by itself.

Kind of annoying, but I've learned to ignore it. Doesn't seem to affect the way the truck runs.

That is normal.

Fixing the code reading on this tool is scheduled, should not be too long now.

I have same vehicle MBR, and I used to have that prob too. I only seen it after i had to boost my truck. Usually went away after awhile. Took truck into Dodge, and they said batteries were shot and replaced them. Got 850CCA instead of 750CCA stockers. Havent seen those lights since. hope this points you in right direction

I have this problem also, with the Brake and ABS lights coming on with the Tow Tune only. You say this is normal? Why is this normal? Does this mean that the ABS brakes are not going to be working when in Tow mode?

So if you install any other tune the light goes out after a bit?

I'll step in... yes. The ABS and Brake Warning lights do go out after a couple restarts of the truck once you've re-flashed with a different tune: stock/perf/extreme. Only the Tow mode seems to pop these lights up.

I'd like to repeat my question though about this being normal: If these lights are expected to be up with a Tow flash, should I expect my ABS brakes to work, or not?
Thanks

No, those lights should come on for a little while after a flash but then go away.
Do you have the latest crom for that Predator?

You bet. I just grabbed the latest crom and downloader this morning and flashed my Predator. I'm heading out of town right away so I'll have to give it a go.

So, you say that once the Tow tune is flashed that I should expect the ABS and Brake Warning lights to come up, but they should disappear after some driving and possibly a couple restarts?
