can't connect predator to computer

I have a predator for the 99 ford f 250 7.3. i am trying to connect it to my computer with a serial to serial connection. It plugs in back of the computer to a port that says ioio. Everytime I search for it ,it says not found.. Do i need to plug into a usb port?. I ave tried different comm settings also. Any advice is welcome.

You need to go to your device manager and see what com port the serial is using and then match it with proper com port setting in the DSDL application.

If you are using the U7170 programmer,,it will Not auto-connect..you need to go to the express tune at the bottom of the DSDL page. Then click on options at the top of that page..select legacy connect..make sure the compressed send is NOT checked.Are you trying to update ..if so,and you havent done the upgrade for the memory yet,it will Not hold the listed files on the download page.Those files are for the larger 512k memory and the older programmers have the 128k memory.Hope this helps.
