Post by rob4607 »

I am looking to purchace the power puck combo for my 04.5 cummins HO, I do not like the whole smoke thing, so I want to find out how much smoke I will be blowing out on the different settings, thanks! Robert

I'll leave it to the experts but when I've run the Puck alone on either of the settings I've not seen much smoke. I only get smoke from the preadator on Performance or extreme. But the puck alone hasn't been a ton of smoke for me...

I'm running the Puck right now without the Predator and there is very little smoke; hardly any more than stock. It has a nice power gain though.

As for the Predator/Power Puck together, I get a pretty good bit of smoke on performance. I have not run the Predator on Extreme for any length of time, so I have no input on the amount of smoke with it. I know running the Performance Stacker tune with the Power Puck on the 50 HP setting, I have enough smoke to nearly smoke out an intersection; that is with the use of a boost fooler as well. I like smoke though.......

The smoke is very controllable also. If you dont want it to, it doesnt. I use the puck as a smoke switch. When its off, the truck blows very little smoke even with the pedal to the floor. With it on though, lots of smoke.

I have to agree, I have an 04.5 as well. I really don't care much about how much I smoke out traffic, but I have to say the smoke is very controllable with this stack. Out of an intersection, I can get moving with very little to no smoke. OR, if you are feeling froggy, you can show people that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to your truck. I usually run around with the stacker tune, and 50hp setting on the puck. Decent for daily driving IMO.

Yupp i kind of set them up like that since some people do like smoke and other do not, if you romp on it, it will puff if you gradually increase throttle you should see minimal amount of smoke, except for maybe the nasty tunes.
Personally i enjoy it tremendously for various reasons i will not mention here...

 nice johan, good to hear our tech guy is a smoke nut too

I find that the smoke is greatest when you dog a little, like on an incline or in traffic, then roll on the throttle pretty heavy. Fuels pretty hard down low, smokes like a fiend till the turbo gets spooled and catches up 8)
