New beta for unsupported 04 and 08, tune changes as well
Moderator: mikel
All is well here, shifts great, an no probs with the tcm. Got rid of my knock in the low end that I had, now I got around 5 holding in the 5-7000 range, wich means add fuel right?
my 1-3800 is at 12 percent, an it holds about 3.00 st retard then drops off.
But thanks again johan.
Truck is wonderful now, all I got to do is get a widewband an get the afr fine tuned, or hit the cmr dealer.

Sorry, what I am asking is did you get the custom prime delete tune straightened out. I ran the custom tune from you shortly after the 9t02d beta crom was released and the truck did not like it at all...had all that weird shifting I posted up about. I had run the 93 tune with the 9t02d crom and the truck ran perfect, then put in the custom tune and all hell broke loose....i.e. burnt up OD/UD clutches.johan wrote:Nothing has been addressed or touched in regards to prime delete in any tunes or revisions, it is strictly a custom tune option at this point.07HemiR6 wrote:So you have this straightened out now with the new crom? What was the deal with the 9t02d crom and prime delete?johan wrote:We can do prime delete on 07 and 08 models right now, anyone wants one shoot me your last tune written.
There was someone from another forum that ran a custom prime delete tune under the original crom and everything was great. He updated to the 9t02d crom and had the prime delete custom tune redone under the new crom and he had the same shifting issues I did however his clutches didn't burn up. So it seems like there was an issue using the 9t02d crom and the custom prime delete tune.
So back to the question, is the custom prime delete tune straightened out?

Johan, are you able to specify a bit more about what changes were made with shift improvements? What should we expect compared to the original crom? Thanks, appreciate all your assistance!johan wrote:Yeah you prolly had the older calid's for your 08, these new ones came out like 2-3weeks ago.spin2008 wrote:Johan, I recently loaded the DB for the first time last weekend (12/6) on my 08 and everything was accepted fine (stock with exception of cai). Had to do a calibration update only. My question is did the new calids come as part of that download I did and that may be why everything was accepted into my vehicle without problems or just lucky for my particular vehicle? Should I be trying the new crom for more improvements or is that just for the other 08 that had different calids/unsupported ones from mine? So far there has been harder shifts and improved acceleration--all things running/shifting smooth. Very impressed so far with 93 tune/difference.
You can try the new crom and shift improvements where made the those tunes.
You will probably have to do a calibration update when using the newer crom as we will update you to the latest dodge cal.

Hey man, I would get a wideband asap if you are going to adjust WOT fuel, because with 12% more fuel in the 1-3800 range you are probably very rich. I have 4%, 6%, 5% and mine is right on at 12.3-4 AFR. Of course, your truck will probably be slightly different due to climate differences. And yes, adding fuel in the 5-7000 range will reduce some KR if not all, but you need a wideband to know how much fuel is too much. You may end up having to pull a degree of timing or two if adding fuel doesn't get rid of your KR.~RAM~ wrote:All is well here, shifts great, an no probs with the tcm. Johan,
I got the modified tune you sent me to work when I changed back to 9r01. Shifts are much harder and I haven't even built up my fuel trims yet for my AFR to lower itself to 12.3-4 range. I know once it builds the fuel trims it will run very hard and shift even harder. Each time I went WOT from 1st it shifted harder and harder, much harder than before you tweaked the tune. My guess on the problem is maybe the tune wasn't compatible with 9r02 since it was based off a 9r01 canned tune? I got the canned tunes from 9r02 to work fine after reloading them, but when I tried one of the custom tunes it did the weird shifting.
Thanks man.

Guess they don't have it straightened out. When I did mine I updated to 9t02d and installed the 93 canned tune. Then I sent that tune to get the custom prime delete added and had the same problem you just had.
It really seems like whatever they did with the newer crom's just doesn't like prime delete especially since no one has any problems with the custom tune under the 9r01 crom.

I had trouble with mine at first too on my 08. I downloaded the 9t02f update and then tried to update my truck. It told me that my update wasnt current and to go back to the site to download the newest cal. I flipped out and thought there was somthing wrong with the program but after downloading it again it loaded on the truck. I havent drove it yet, but its in there.

I didn't notice much difference in the shifting. You guys getting a 2nd gear scratch are making me jealous! Mine only did that on a damp road. The shifts do feel pretty good though. I just wish this damn transmission had better gear ratios. It needs to have a lower 1st and 4th should be 1:1, not 3rd. If it had the gearing that my wife's Explorer has it would be MUCH quicker. This trans needs to have 4.56 gears behind it, but I just can't go to that level of mods with this truck if I want to stay married.
I think my mileage is 1 to 2mph worse, but I did disable the MDS. I might try to re-enable it when I fill up to do a comparison. It seems that the MDS was causing the RPM to jump from 1800 to 2000 on the highway randomly with no difference in load or throttle position. That was driving me nuts. I'll have to see if the Diablo tune with MDS enabled does that or not.

IMO you aren't missing anything. I did the update to 9r02 and no longer had a 3-4 WOT shift point option. Went back to 9r01 and have 3-4 shift point adjustment again. I had Johan alter my 2nd prime delete and rear o2 delete tune that I already had, to shift like the new crom. I can tell a difference in the shifting, because it is much harder now. I'm sticking with the 9r01 crom since it works great for me. I'm getting a CMR tune for my cam in a few weeks anyway, so the updates don't really matter.acarroll89 wrote:Mine wont update from the original 9r01 crom... meh

I figured it out. I unplugged the tuner from the power and plugged it back in and it updated.. Dur. But for me I noticed a big difference in shifting. But then again you had all ur fuel tables nailed down. My truck does feel much stronger than the 9r01. So what your saying is he can get the 9r01 shift exactly like the 9r02 but still keep all the features of the 9r01? Cause I'm afraid of the tranny problems with the newer updates with the 2nd prime deleteElectricBlueHemi wrote:IMO you aren't missing anything.
