New to the Predator. Help appreciated. No change in my RAM

Post by Hayabusa1 »

All-

I just got my Predator set up and I installed the 91 Octane tune in my 2005 Ram. ( I had a full tank of 92, so I didn't go for the 93 tune right away). I drove the truck all over today, and have to say that I notice absolutely no difference in her. My shifts, acceleration, WOT, everything feels exactly the same as before the tune.
I read over on the Hemi forum they are talking about the CROM? I tried to install it, but it said I must put my trucks back up in to the vehicle again prior to installing.
My predator is currently on 9t02d, with Univ_Rev2. Is this the most current? DO I need to update the CROM?
Exactly what was the 91 Octane tune supposed to do for the truck?

I really appreciate any assistance.

Yes, you must restore the Original Backup (putting the truck back to stock and reseting the Predator) before updating the CROM.

I can now say I'm pretty happy with my predator.

My 05 is now running problem free. The WOT shifts are good and firm. ALMOST as firm as S/C, but slightly softer.

Part throttle shifts are good and throttle response is better. I think both could be improved with more part throttle tuning.

The idle is perfectly smooth... no surging at all. The shift points are now correct as well.

The Power is good and I'm looking forward to fine tuning.

One negative note:

My gas mileage with S/C was 15-17 according to the overhead at 55-70 mph.

Now its 13-14.5 at the same speed with the same driving habits. MPG's have DEFINITELY taken a tumble.

Check those MPGs for real (do the math).
I am confident that our mileage will be better than the other guys.
