I have a 2007 Corvette that I have just restored the original backup tune, thinking about selling it. Anyway, I am using the U7194 Predator with revision 8r10. Before restoring the backup tune I was using the 91 octane header tune; now that I have restored the factory tune I received two codes, both for the catalyst system, P0420 and P0430. I have headers with hi-flow cats and a Vararam CAI along with the 160 thermostat. I expected codes when I restored the tune so I reset them with the Predator, the problem is that I have had the same codes come up twice since, both times I have cleared them with the Predator.
If I decide to keep the car I'll have to get a header tune, but for the mean time I'm going to sell it and the Predator separately.
My question is, how do I clear them for good? The O2 sensors are connected and everything else seems normal. When I had the header tune on the car I had it inspected and passed…
Thanks in advance,
JR

RE: 2007 Corvette, trouble clearing codes
the codes will keep showing up unless you have them tuned out...
you need to have a tune installed that disables the codes...
you won't ever get them to be off while on the stock/GM tune - you have to have a tune installed that disables the rear O2 sensor codes...
you can't "clear them for good" and not have them show back up, unless you install a tune that has them disabled, like you did previously when you went through inspection...

Thanks Lew, I was going to post a 'response' after I spoke to Phil at Diablosport Friday; he told me the same thing. After the ridiculous and insulting offer the dealer presented me I'm thinking I'm going to keep it now. But now that I updated the predator I'm going to need a header tune. Any ideas?
