yeah this would be an awsome tool to have, as long as there was very through instructions to help out or some sort of online test course you had to take. i would be interested.. Crazy question will this also apply to Trinity programers as well, can they be altered with cmr software?

Trinity will support CMR tunes for sure.

In regards to the 'as long as there was very through instructions to help out or some sort of online test course you had to take' statement, well, there in lies the problem.

We are not in the business of 'teaching people how to tune cars', and thats a tough business to be in.
It takes lots of time and effort to grasp the things required to be a good tuner, and some people seem to never get it no matter how much they are given.

I know everyone wants to be a tuner, but in reality it should be left to those with a true, full understanding of what they are doing and why...

thanks!
you guys i hope you dont think all's you need is a laptop and a chip master revolution to tune your cars like the pros!
i spent 20,000 on a dyna jet dyno.
therfore you will need to monitor your wideband air/fuel meter like this otherwise you can run to rich or even to lean.
just my 2 cents

I really cant see a full adjustability software client for end users. There are too many possibilities of people cooking there motors. I could see a software app that lets you adjust the normal user adjustable items. Just be a slight bit easier.

To me, this would seem to be a more reasonable solution. Create a watered down version of CMR that would let you adjust the normal user adjustable settings in the Predator, so you can do your adjustments from your computer, without having to sit in a hot vehicle while clicking out adjustments.

As for marrying... the EUCMR should be locked to the Predator, which is locked to the vehicle. The particular copy of EUCMR should be locked to the Predator via internal serial number. Now the Pred and EUCMR are married for life. If you have to have your Pred replaced, DiabloSport would have to either change the serial # of the replacement Pred to match the old one, or change EUCMR to accept the new serial number. EUCMR should get it's serial match data from the login server, and not be a local file (easy to hack).

Also, you should be able to purchase a unlimited version of CMR as well, just like the dealers. However, you will have to sign a legally binding waiver stating DS is not responsible if you bake your PCM...

why not?? HPTuners offers such a software solution package....

granted, you'd have to know what you're doing, but the option does already exist if people wanted to go that route....

Like mentioned. Liablility. Also people that destroy things can create a false "word of mouth" or "bad image" about the product. Which in time can destroy a great company even though it may have been totaly out of there control.

Yea it would be a great product, but it could also be the worse product idea ever.

there's liability just by using the handheld predator, or any other handheld out there for that matter...

read the disclaimers in the user manual... they have themselves covered...

What I think is cool about this is that since the CMR software is already developed, there won't be a lot of cost to be passed on to the buyer past whatever it costs them to figure out how to 'marry' my predator and the EUCMR. Hopefully, the end cost will be competitive with HP Tuners/EFI Live...

My hope is that this will be just as useful as one of the other vehicle tuning suites, but without having to carry around a laptop to switch between available tunes. Am I the only one who switches to the 91 tune when I'm away from home and can't find 93 octane gas? I'd hate to have to dig out my lappy every time if I was using some other tuning solution.

If this and that pesky TCM support would happen, I bet Diablosport would open up a much larger market for their products. And who doesn't want that for their business?

I would like to ask about update one more time ;_) Recently I moved out of Canada to Europe with my Procharged SVT Focus. Back in Canada I have been using Predator to tune my car (at dealer). I'm planing to up boost a little and therefore do a slight change in my tune (probably). I have Wideband, J&S, Mafia... on my car, dyno is here as well, but no Predator dealer with CMR, therefore I'm wondering what are my chances to change a tune or I'll have to go to another route as SCT is available in Europe. Please help.
Thx

There are a few dealers here on the forums that do tunes over the Internet. They are not as accurate as a dyno tune, but they can be better than the canned tune in your case.

I am interested in the CMR as well, a watered down version that allows general changes would be Great, and also better data logging. I have been trying to find a 90 degree adapter for the predator so when I am doing data logging the plug isnt in the way of my clutch leg.

I have been very happy with Diablo Sport, and my Tuner ( Dez Racing ) Loves the latest CMR updates. we are getting over 400 to the rear with a Paxton Novi 1200 on my 07 Mustang. We hope to be at the 500 mark after the Intercooler install and some better flowing exhaust.
