When I purchased the Diablo Predator for my 2005 GMC 2500 HD Diesel I was pleased with the performnce and increased gas milage. Well that changed after a while and I started having problems with my transmission dropping into 4th gear and sticking there. When it happend the first time I was on the highway passing a big rig, I put hte pedal to the floor and about three seconds later my truck fell on its face. I noticed my RPM gauge was close to pegging out so I immediately pulled over. I stopped and then tried to take off again only to realize that my truck was stuck in a high gear. I pulled out my programmer to check trouble codes and it showed a TCM fault. I returned the truck to factory setting and everything was fine. My truck was under warranty so I took it in to see if they could fix it. The dealership said they did not know why the TCM code was displayed but they went ahead and fixed it for me. Since the first time that happened the problem has occured four other times. The dealership has fixed it each time but I think they are getting pretty suspicious...they have never asked if I use a programmer though. While this was a pain I dealt with it, as I had talked to a friend with the same make and year of truck who expressed having the same problems...he ended up getting a different programmer. My most recent problem was big, one day I was uploading a tune and the programmer gave me an "invalid format" error about 85% through the upload. I tried to resore the factory setting and got another error. I then tried to strat my truck and it was dead!!! I had to have it towed to the dealership, I was informed that my PCM was "fried" but they covered it under warranty with a lot of begging and pleading on my end. I now have a new PCM and I am scared to death about trying to put a program on it. I have done research and talked to many people only to find out that the shifting problem appears to be happening to others. I need to know two things 1) if Diablo plans on providing a software patch for this problem? and 2) Can I send my programmer back to Diablo and have it checked out to make sure everything is in tip top shape befor I hook it up to my trcuck again cuz I really doubt warranty will cover another PCM and worst case scenario they find out I am running a programmer and void my warranty. I hope Diablo will do this at no charge as I bought it less than a year ago and I'm sure Diablo wants to stand by their products and prvide the best customer service possible so I and many others will continue using their products and not be forced to give negative advice to others about buying something from Diablo.
Very concerned, Kevin

RE: Transmission sticking
You can contact our tech guys about sending the unit in for update/check. I would need a truck here with the issue in order to troubleshoot it as it is not a common issue.
