A/F ---Torque converter lock up

Post by ajaques »

02 Harley 7158 rev 9r02 Hi, I am using the 93 pulley tune with a little extra fuel added to bring the LTFT`s as close to 0 for highway driving. Now my question 1. when i go WOT my A/F jumps up and down between 11.7 and 10.5 and is the same for 1st 2nd 3rd gears, yet at 1/2 T its steady at 12.3 ,can I get my WOT A/f to steady at 11.5 ?
My question 2, when town driving the Torque Converter locks up at low speed / RPM and the engine labours under light throttle and you need to kick it down , Is there any way to adjust this so the T/C un locks ? Thanks.

WOT A/F ratio can depend on many factors. If you are in a lower gear you have things like very high acceleration rates coming into effect which will make the 02 sensors delay more apparent. What is being displayed on the wideband could be what happened 500-1000 rpm lower. Do you have the wideband up by the header/manifold and not at behind the cats? Tipin instances will also show some accelerator pump fueling as well. Depending on what you have for a CAI that could be severely affecting your wot fueling too. The best way to check is steady state and a slow acceleration rate all the way from low rpm to high rpm with the slowest acceleration rate possible. Even then you may be getting samples that are averaged over time. Misfires can also cause funny things to happen on the wideband too. Your best bet is to get it on a dyno and compare/verify it against a known good wideband and also have them tweek the trans lockups as well...

Thanks. Looks like a custom tune or 2 is required, It will have to be via email as I am in the UK and there are no CMR tuners here, I will give WMS a call .
