COT setting advice
COT setting advice
where is a safe place for COT to be set? mine defaults to 80*c and it runs like ass. seems a bit cold to me.

lookin at a tune for an 05 silverado right now...
and the COT is set as follows:
Converter extreme temp = 975* C
Converter high temp = 925* C
Converter low temp = 905* C
Converter medium temp = 915* C
COT Enable Temp = 80* C
so, your setting of 80* C is correct... that just tells the PCM that at 80* C, your COT protection is enabled and can function... that's all.. no need to change it... that is the correct setting...
