I am reposting this because I havent seen a response with the original thread:
I installed a steeda CAI on my 05 GT and had trouble with cold starts when I loaded the canned steeda MAF/91 oct program. The calibration ID is FBJR2G3 and it was version 9r03 on a U7140 programmer.
To remedy the problem with the cold starts (so far), I reloaded the diablo 91 octane program (for the stock MAF) and I pulled back on the global timing by 3 degrees. Since I reloaded the modified program the car has been running fine, but now that I have the new Steeda CAI, I modified the MAF curve (+ 6%). I tested it last night and car ran well but I got a MIL(P0174) for banks running lean. I went up to 12% on the MAF curve and will try it again.
Is this the right approach? Does increasing the MAF curve compensate for change in the reading due to the larger MAF housing? Is this whats referred to as the MAF transfer function? I am just not having any luck with the preloaded Steeda program.

RE: Working tune for steeda CAI
Honestly it is a crap shoot unless you use the Steeda tune that we developed here onthe flowbench, as it has a MAF curve that matches the output of the Steeda CAI perfectly.

The Steeda maf curve is approximately 65% higher than a stock curve. Adjusting via the maf curve on a program designed for the stock maf will not get you anywhere near close. Attached is a tune with some tweeks to the startup stuff.
You state that you have a new Steeda CAI? Did you have the old 85mm unit in the beginning? and just now switched to the 90mm? If so, that would explain why the car did not run the greatest because our tune is for the 90mm.
Do you have ANY other mods to the car at all?

Ive had the tuner for about a month now and have been trying different stock MAF tunes to see if I see any increased performance on one vs the other. The best one was the 91 octane tune but it also gave me trouble when starting the car cold, once warmed up it ran great. I found by retarding the global spark about 3 deg and then advancing the 2-4k & 4-7k by 3 deg, the car started and ran great. All this with the stock MAF housing.
Earlier this week I added the Steeda CAI and loaded the Steeda tune. It ran well when the car was hot, but cold starting was painful. I then went back to the 91 oct stock MAF tune (with my previously mentioned timing adjustments). My first attempt was to the stock 91 oct tune and adjusting the MAF factor (set at +6%); the MIL came on about 25 miles later with a P0174. I used this same tune with the MAF @ +12% and the car is running wel with no codes after about 30 miles. But after your comment about +65% higher than the stock MAF, I am guessing the MIL is only a few more miles away...
The only other mod on the car is the Ford racing exhaust. What were the tweaks with the attached tune (just out of curiosity). Wondering if its timing or fuel adjustments...

The best option for you is to run a custom tune written for your application. Although, the tune provided by Kevin should work but I bet when you loaded it you didn't return all of your tune modifications to factory did you? If not then you're changes will be applied to the corrected tune and therefore interfere with the adjustments made in that program.
If you still have problems with this feel free to let me know as I do tuning for these on a daily basis.
Thanks, Doug.

you have to download and install the dsdownloader and plug your predator to your pc while powering it up with a 12V source or the OBD port of your car and transfer the file to your tuner.
