2001 sierra " not in database"

Post by longalan2 »

i have a 2001 gmc sierra with the 5.3 auto. i have updated the programmer with 9r09. it tells me that it is not in data base. the only tune it shows for it are the factory hp tune. at first it said not in data base. after 2 tries it took the factory hp tune, but wouldn't let me modify it. now it has the unmodified tune in it but claims not to have the vehicle in data base. i was also under the understanding that this tuner would have more than just the factory hp tune. the tuner is U7198. please help the cal id is BB12202088CVA. i have a programmer for my mustang, which makes this one seem like it does little to nothing. are there other tunes that are supposed to be on it?

it should have more than just the factory hp tune in it...

sounds like you have an un-supported calibration ID...

you'll have to wait for them to create a new revision update to support your Cal ID...

We'll be adding this to the next revision update we make for this Predator.

You can either have your ECU re-flashed at a dealership for over a $100, or wait for the new revision. The re-flashing adds all kinds off updates to your truck, transmission settings, fuel system settings, shift pressures, and other stuff that get your ECU up to date. At least thats how the mechanic explained it to me at the dealership.

if you want to find out what kind of updates, take in your VIN and ask what's changed.

Thanks guys! I'll call the dealership tomorrow and check on that. I didn't realize that the updates could make it to where the predator supports it.
