torque management 05 GTO

Post by Carman319 »

I own a 05 GTO A4 that I have installed a performance tune using the Predator 7191. The car feels much faster, with the exception of the excessive tire spin when the car shifts froms first to second gear. Yes it's very cool. But I have since installed a TCM from White Automotive. It was ordered with 50% torque management removed. With the Predator tune back to stock the car actually shifts better and has a better transition from first to second. So what's the problem? I would like the benefeit of the performance tune paramaters. Without the added reduction in torque management. Or is that excessive tire spin a product of the added horsepower?

Thanks
Joe

ya need stickier tires then....

more horsepower & torque, with no way to keep traction on the pavement, is always gonna give ya wheelspin...

less power = less/no wheelspin...

take your pick...

I tried something, and I think it worked the way I wanted. This car is an everyday driver. So I want performance without too much harsness. I used the Predator Tune and selected manual trans. on my automatic with the White Automotive TCM 50% torque reduction. I feel like I have the most engine power, with a milder shifting from first to second. The car feels quicker, because it's not sitting for that split second spinning, going no where when it shifts so hard. What do you think?
