7198 New owner, yay, and some ?'s

Installed a 7198 in my 01 2500HD with an 8.1 and Allison. Installed the "diablo" tune, with some adjustments (idle rpm mostly). Did notice a difference, for sure. Will give it some time to adjust things, as I have several mods other than the tune.

?'s are as this. I obviously have no adjustments on the transmission, but it gives me the options. Same with a couple of other options. If I were to change something, souch as shift points, what happens....? Just nothing, where the tcm isn't connected to the port?

After installing the tune, should I disconnect the battery, to reset the computer, to learn new settings, or just run it?

And, where I have changed the idle settings, what would happen/ or should I reset the idle of the computer by the gm process?

I must say, I was a touch scared with pulling the trigger on a Diablo, hearing some negative reports, but as far as my application, it was VERY straight forward, and am pleased. I do have an 08 GMC that I am gonna tune next, but waiting for tcm support?? haha!

don't try to adjust any tranny settings... won't do anything since the allison uses it's own specific TCM controller - not a GM TCM, which isn't supported, and why risk hosing your setup if you do try it and codes/tunes get screwed up... also, no support for allison transmissions is planned either... so you won't be having any TCM support...

after installing the tune, just drive it... things should be relearned after about 75 miles...

not sure what your asking about the idle settings...

No need to reset anything, or disconnect batteries, just drive it.

I too am a bt lost about your idle question...

I know theres no tcm support for the alllison, I ment the 08 truck I have, waiting to buy a DS for that...

There was no ? on Idle, just mentioned that was the only change from the DS tune that I changed.
