was running my preditor on performance. I did try it on the two settings above that but is was rediculous and unnecessary.

I did have a superchip on it before buying the diablo but it torched two trannies. The superchip was on the tranny for just a bit with the last transmission b4 getting the diablo so it's hard to say when the damage was done.

I'm stock now. Actually, I am putting on a Quadzilla Commander. All it does is monitor tranny temp, engine temp, boost, fuel pressure etc... It'll defuel if things get to hot and save the engine. By the way, I'll sell them for $299 now.

I'm thinking I'm going to sell my transmission and get another one.

how hard were you pushing it on the performance setting???? Even a mild tune on the new cummins motors pushes the tranny too far. Most say a valve body/torque converter upgrade are the minimums to run a performance setting on any tuner.

I did rock it a few times but overall wasn't too hard on it. I should have never taken off my Edge w/ attitude. It was on there for 6 months, defueled if anything got too high, didn't rev the engine past 3200 rpms and really didn't have too much power or torque on the tranny. It ran quietly w/ no smoke, unless I changed that smoke setting and I got better fuel economy. I'm seriously considering a different tranny.

????????????????? I hear you say people are suggesting a valve body and torque converter but my last tranny had smoked the clutches. Do the previously mentioned upgrades help the cluthes from getting melted or you I need to upgrade those as well?????????????????????

You can get better clutch discs and throw them in when you upgrade the trans.

the upgraded valve body will provide more pressure in every gear....should help prevent slipping....more than the stock tranny/VB setup anyway

The upgraded valve body will give more pressure ad prevent slipping. The torque converter is where most of the heat in the trans is produced, Although the clutches were fried, chances are that is was a by product of out weak and inefficaint torque converter causing to much heat to begin with. My trans temps dropped over 100 degrees with just a torque converter up grade. Just like a clutch in a manual trans, if there is slippage anywhere there will be heat.
