02GT whining type noise at WOT?

I have noticed that when I get on the gas just before shifting at WOT there is a whining noise like something spooling up. I have adjusted the shift points and firmness but I don't know if that has anything to do with the noise. Anyone else have this issue? What is the sound I am hearing?

When was the last time you changed your rear end oil? Change it to a good syn. and add 1 bt. of ford frt. mod.....No matter what royal P or red line has on it ADD THE FRT> MOD....

I haven't changed or checked the rear-end oil since I bought the car a few months ago. I am getting ready to switch to 3.73's so I'll get to the oil then. The squalling or whining I am speaking of is coming from the engine bay in front though. I know it's not the alternator because I just changed it and the noise is still there. In fact I just added a Professional Products 75mm plenum and TB and sounds like the noise is more noticeable!? Which is even more wierd.... Throttle response is awesome though!!

Sorry if I wasn't any help. Also it sounds like you have an auto? If so you would love 4.10's gear better. I have 3.55's in my man. My friend at work has a 2001 gt (AUTO) and went with 3.73's in his and ended up going with 4.10's. Gas mileage was the same he said. I will tell you when he leaves the line at a stop light.( I have to work very have to play catch up....) For what I have seen 4.10's in auto are the only way to go....Just give you my 2 cents.....LOL
