Predator/Puck combo ?

Predator/Puck combo ?
I'm thinking about getting this combo for my '06 Dodge CTD but have a few ??? Can U get 200 HP & 400 lb./tq w/out the puck? If so, why get the puck? Is the 250 HP extreme tune avail. for '06? Can U select on the fly w/ & w/out the puck? I read U get less HP w/ the puck, is this true? I am looking for performance as well as towing an 8,000 lb. trailer a couple times a mo. long distances w/ decent fuel milage. Thank you for the answers to these ?'s.

RE: Predator/Puck combo ?
from what ive read the predator alone with the available extreme tune will net highher hp than the puck stack, but thats with the predator on the stack tune, some guys run the predator on the reg extreme with the puck and dont get the check engine lite and thats suposed to get some good hp.for towing i think the preator on tow and the puck on 60hp would be the best combo

So you're saying it will make more power while running the Puck tunes with the Puck turned off???

RE: Predator/Puck combo ?
no the guy that dynoed used the predator on stack tunes and the puck and got lower numbers than the predator on extreme non stack.he didnt dyno with the predator on non stack with the puck on.diablo doesnt recomend it but many guys do it and havent had any problems, that combo is suposed to be most powerful but i havent seen a dyno sheet on that combo,i know by seat of the pants that running the predator on non stack and the puck on is more powerful than the stacker tunes,

That's a lot of pressure though I bet. I'm sure the injectors and the fuel rail don't care for that too much. I'll try running the RKL tune once my clutch is in. If I can make a hard pass without pulling my FP down to zero then I will try to dyno it that way......

Here are the numbers: Run 003 is with the Extreme Stack, Run 007 is with the Predator alone, the puc is still plugged in set on 90hp, not sure if it still active though. I do notice the boost changes with different tunes, and when in the Performance tune EGT's are lower when max accelleration is applied then the Extreme tune.

Alright, you guys are confusing me here. You say run 007 is with the Predator alone but then you say the Puck is on the 90hp setting! Are you meaning to say that you had the Predator set on the Non-Stack Extreme tune and then also added the Puck too? I'm not busting your chops. I just want to make sure I understand where I will get the most power when I get on the dyno in a couple weeks.....

Yes, whether the puc is operational or not I don't know.....it seems very vague on what is actually activated on all settings...Dodgezilla wrote:Alright, you guys are confusing me here. Thats where I start to get lost, if the puc is "on" and the Predator is on "Extreme".....what does the "Extreme stack" accomplish?

From what I heard, and these guys here can enlighten us, is that the Predator tunes that add pressure were adding way too much rail pressure to where trucks were running like crap even at idle. Taking the pressure out of the programming and getting it from the Puck seems to have solved that problem. So The Stack tunes don't give any pressure, just duration and/or timing. (They won't tell us how much..
) Apparently the regular tunes still add pressure too.
Am I right DS guys????????
