2005 pontiac GTO 6sp man
I have been playing with my new predator and just got done logging a run. I have an 05 GTO, manual 6 sp. I put in the afr, ctp, rpm, ltft bank 1 & 2, spark advance and total knock retard. this is what I got;
afr:14.75
ctp: 24%
2 rpms: 1. 2200 ltft1= -1.56 ltft2= -2.34
2. 2000 ltft1= -0.78 ltft2= -2.34
spark adv; 32
total knock spark retard; 0
I have an X-pipe and the gibson rear mufflers, everything else is stock. I did put the 91 octane tune in the car last week also.
As you can see, there is a difference between banks, but no adjustment for seperate banks in the programmer. Then the 2 different steady rpm readings. I was able to run the 2200 rpm for half the log, then ran into traffic for a minute and dropped it to 2000 rpm for the other half. I was able to run steady for both.
Why did I get a different reading on bank 1 for the 2 changes in rpm but not any changes in the #2 bank for both? I am waiting for my serial and power cord so I can load these #'s on the computer. I just ordered them over the weekend, so should be here soon.
Thanks
Russ

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
correct... both banks won't be exactly the same, that's normal...
and correct again, there is only a single injector slope adjustment, normal again... the slope adjustment is global fueling, and will affect both banks...
so, no worries...
if that's where your ltft's are staying at while you're steady, then you should be all set - cuz you want them to be between 0 to -2... you COULD even go up +1% on your slope if you wanted to and still be golden...
but yeah, get that log downloaded and post it up, let's have a look-see...

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
wow! Quick reply. Thanks. Nice to know I am close with the readings. I just have a fairly black exhaust and wanted to see if I could lean it out some. Mostly all I do is short bursts of driving, 5 miles to work, 2 miles in town and 3 on the freeway at a nice steady 60 mph. 3 times a week I put an extra 15 miles on it with freeway driving. I do get on it hard when ever possible though. I have had it to 155 mph on a long open freeway run, what a nice rush!
Looking forward to more modifications and more fun driving. I guess I have the latest predator version?
Thanks again.

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
there's a newer revision than what you have, but nothing you need - there's nothing for your vehicle...
like for my Monte SS, there's been nothing new for mine for a while, so I'm still on 8r06 on my 7191...
yeah, you could go up +1% from wherever your slope is set at now, that will lean it out slightly..

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
Just one more question. Here in Louisiana, I use 93 octane fuel. As you know the predator has a 91 tune. Without you having to write a new program for me, are there a few perameters that I can go a little more with for this higher octane? Unless that is something you might want to or need to do in writing a program. But I don't mind adjusting it myself either. Just thought you might have proven perameters for this car and tune.
Again. thanks

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
well, for the timing, you can only adjust it for WOT... you'd benefit more getting a custom tune for 93 octane so that the part-throttle timing could be adjusted as well...
but, for the WOT timing, you can go +8% in all rpm ranges and that will add about 2* of timing, which should wake it up at WOT running 93 octane...
but after adjusting it, be sure to do a WOT data log and monitor your KR (Total Knock Spark Retard) to see if you have any knock present... if you do, then back it down...
and make sure it's GOOD 93 octane gas... mobil, exxon, sunoco, amoco or bp are the recommended ones... and NEVER use shell!

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
I am not sure what you want or how I can put up the results from my log so you can see how it looks. Let me know and I will get it up. I edited my first post on this page and it has a cvs attachment, but not sure if you want to try that, but if you do, it is safe, I just somehow added another cvs to the attachment?
Thanks
Thanks
RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
your log looks good... your LTFT's are at -2.34 and -1.56...
you could leave your settings where they are, or you could go up +1% from wherever you have it set at now... not a necessity tho...
other than that, the log looks real good man...

RE: Whats with the 2 banks for ltft in the predator logging?
Well, that is very good to hear. Wish you could say the same about my 401K....lol. It does run better and pops less on deceration, although that really never did bother me. I am going to adjust the advance numbers like you mentioned earlier and I may tweak the LTFT by that 1%. I hope to add more mods to the car and keep it running its best with your help. Thanks very much

I have been tweaking the setting. Cats still on, but next week I am gutting them. I asked in another posting about the cats so I will look for an answer there for that. Just curious what you think about these numbers though.
Thanks
