Burned out fuel injector

Post by vtdiesel »

I have a 2007 Dodge 5.9 diesel with 16,000 miles on it. I had the Diablo Sport performance package in it and started getting a ruff engine at idle.
I put the factory tune back in the truck and took it to the dealer.
The dealer found a bad fuel injector and said it had to do with an electrical pulse problem that they could not specificialy find a problem.

I understand the Diablo sport had a program problem that caused ruff engine idle problems.

Would this program fry the fuel injectors? Does the new program fix this issue.

I'm afraid to reload the program and I have not down loaded the new program.
Could some one giive me some info about this.

My email address is ([email protected].

Thanks :?:

no "where's the programmer" speach?

I had that happen about 2weeks ago(20XXXmiles), but I had a 04 with no programmer that went though LOTS of injectors. Its dodge having the problems, not the predator, however it probly weeded out the bad one. Anyway, mine actoly failed at around 100mph  with the same tune.

The Predator tunes will not cause injectors to go bad, it might speed up the time it would take to display the bad injector symptom due to the fact that we are pushing everything harder with the tunes, but it will not cause a injector to go bad, as madman said Dodge does has issues with injectors and it is a pretty common thing, i had an 07 in here last week that sounded like a 12valve and it only had 2k miles on it.
