2008 Ford F-150
I bought the programer from a friend and it worked fine on his truck. Now when i hook it up to my truck the programmer turns on and goes to the main menu but, when i want to go do a tune it will say cannot read vehicle and please make sure ignition is on and engine is off. What is the problem?
If anybody can help that would be really great.

maybe your pcm is locked?? has it been tuned by someone or something else before??

Try Options/Troubleshooting/Show calid, and see if it displays the calibration please.
