1/8 mile track time 07 ram hemi vs silverado

I have a 2007 Ram Hemi quad cab 2wd (U7137)tuner on 93 octane perf. tune. My question is can i beat a 2008 silverado crew cab 1500 (5.3) 2wd in the 1/8 mile?? Lotta bragging rights go to the winner....thanks.

What mods on each truck? I would think you'd have an advantage, simply because the Hemi is stronger then the 5.3 and the weights are similar.... plus, he's got the ancient tech 4 speed transmission.

my ram just has the tuner and a K&N drop-in filter, 93 octane and 6000rev and shift. His is supposedly stock.

If he has a regular cab it is going to be close. Im sorry to hurt your feelings but the 08 Silvardo in 4.8 would give you are run stock for stock. The 5.3 has about 15 more hp and 20more torque than you do stock. It is going to be close. I get my buddies 09 crew cab dodge all day long and mine is a 4.8 reg cab with cold air and exhaust.

Huh? Thats not right, not even close. 07 Ram Hemi was rated at 345hp, 375ft/lbs. The 5.3 Silverado was only rated at 315hp and 338ft/lbs. Thats a 30hp, 37ft/lb advantage for the Hemi.

well mabye im wrong but in motor trends drag race the silvarado spanked the hemi!!!!! That is a fact!!! Also if im not mistaken the article rated the 5.7 Hemi with at 295 hp rating. Everyone knows it is hard to beat a chevy in a drag race stock to stock. And the truth is if he is in a reg cab chevy against a quad cab dodge it is going to be a good race. With the modds to the dodge of course. If he has mods there is no chance. Like i have said i take my buddies 08 hemi all day long and i have a 4.8 It is apples to oranges.

No Hemi has ever been rated at 295. I still don't see any Vortec Chevy taking any Hemi Ram 1500.

Must be a dodge fan!!! lol what a joke im sorry and dont mean to be rude. It is just pick up any mag or truck review and it will prove it. The most hp doesent mean the faster vehicle. The vortec chevy is a tuff motor to contend with. It is great to see a 5.3 eat a 5.7 hemi Yea Yea Yea less hp but still wins in the drag and trailer pull. It is sad when a 5.3 outpulls a 5.7 with what you say boast 345. Still the SILVY out pulls the beloved Joke Hemi. At least chevy sticks with what they pick. Heck everytime you turn around Dodge is readoing the beloved hemi just to keep up with the measley little vortec 327 5.3 v8 that gm produces. And now there left behind for good what are they gonna come out with to keep up with the new 6.2 427 Nothing. Hey i owned a dodge 2001 dakota 5.9 RT good truck junk on the trany. Hey i bet it would out run a 5.3 to huh. Yea right it had a programer intake and exhaust and it still couldnt keep up with my buddies lil junky 04 4.8 regular cab. Again sorry to be so rude but it seems to me you know nothing about a chevy and i do know pleanty about a dodge. Go out an get some if you ever come to texas ill line up with YOU in the dodge. Better get a turbo and some zexx to keep up tho.

And to the guy that posted the question I aint banging on your dodge. I was just trying to give you some advice from someone that knows a lil. If you want to know if you can beat him line up with him. I know there are braging rights at stake but heck if you get beat. Bolt on another add on and mabye you will be the one bragging. You never know tho mabye that junk vortec motor will spin off the line or something. It is like i tell the guys i work with. I dont hide what i got and i aint scared to show what i got. If they wanna line up I line up. Just remember The smaller the stroke the quicker the revv. You might want to run him in the1/4 instead of the 1/8 Itll give you the advantage since you have more cubic inches.

Last i checked my dad is in the great sand box across the pond. OK and i care about a CHEEP JEEP Im surprised all the parts dont fly off the thing on a 12 second pass. I got plenty of vortec for you. 02 SS comaro itll give you a 12 second run!!!! ALL motor

guys, here is the deal... the silverado got me in the 1/8th mile by almost a full truck length and i beat him by half truck length in the quarter. I gave him the jump and I spun on take-off(had it revved to about 1500rpm), he did not spin, and to add insult to injury, I found out after that I had the programmer on 87tune (dumbass!) . He won't race me again, so I don't know how much different the outcome would be the second time around. If we go again , I will definitely record and post it!

I told you that stock chevy would be a tuff race in the 1/8. But at least you got out there and did your thing. Imagine if that chevy had a tune and some bolt on's though. Good luck man!
