Yet another unlocking question

So, I purchased a Predator Tuner for a Ford Lightning from an NLOC forum member, but when I tried to hook it up to my truck it said "this tool is not licensed for use with this vehicle." I've been told that this means that the tuner is still locked to the previous owners truck, but after several attempts by the previous owner and his tune shop, he has been unable to unlock it. I am not sure if it matters, but the reason he sold his Predator to me was because he had already switched over to an SCT tuner and I think that could be part of the problem. I am trying to figure out if I can somehow unlock the tuner without having the previous owners truck or not. Please let me know what the best course of action would be. Thank you.

what revision is it on? what year is your truck? what model predator?? cuz I know for some of them, the only way they can be unlocked is to restore the original backup to the original vehicle...

and seeing as how you bought it used, I don't even think diablosport can/will unlock it for ya, even if it'd be possible, since that's one of their policies that they tell everyone about regarding buying used ones from ebay and such, then the people find out they bought a locked tuner...

will have to wait til monday to hear from the diablo guys for sure tho...

Since I don't currently have the tuner (the seller has it) all I can tell you is that my Truck is on 04 and the tuner and the box it came in had Lightning written on it. I'm not sure if that is the model that you were asking about and I have no idea what revision it is.

The seller has told me that he tried restoring the original backup several times, but he could not get it to work for what ever reason. He has even taken it to his local tuner, but still has had no luck.

He prolly cant unlock it due to the fact that he already flashed over his pred tune with a SCT flash.

Unfortunately, thats not going to work, and things have to be undone in the proper order to make this all work.

I would step away from this deal and consider a new Predator with a warranty.
