warranty
I have an 04 cummins and I had to take it into the shop because my injectors where going out or sticking. I also have the 7130 predator I put it back in stock mode and they called and told me that it wouldn't be covered under warranty because they could tell it had some kind of programmer on it. Has anybody else had this problem?

RE: warranty
I heard of this on several differant downloaders. As well as some auto store code scanners/erasers can clear out key stocks as well. I'd think the dealer would have to have better evidance then this to just say tuff luck. Never heard of fuel tracing.
Smarty does not clear key counts. When you put your truck back to stock they remain the same and keep adding as normal.
You got to hand it to the manufactures it makes it tuff to get away with things these days. Pretty some they'll know how many times you stop to go pee when your traveling.
I'm interested as well Johan if the diablo keeps track or clears them out.

Silverbullet, according to the post above yours, it clears them out. I think I'll wait to get one 'till this is worked out. I need my warranty.

RE: warranty
I find it hard to believe that a dealer can reject a warranty claim for number of key counts viewed, they can not prove that it was caused by a programmer to my knowledge. Especially for the injector issue which is a common issue not related to programmers(at least not ours). Ill check this out.

RE: warranty
The dealer knows that there are only a couple ways to clear the key counts. The first is with a dealer reflash which they would have logged in the system no matter which dealer did it. The second is if you had a downloader on your truck and put it back to stock for a trip to see them. So, if your motor blows and they see 1 or 2 key counts they know you put your stock tune back in to try to get warranty work done on a truck that was modified. Pretty simple.
Now, as far as I know, with all the fooling these DLs and fueling boxes do, there's really no other way the dealer can tell you had a performance adder on your truck other than the key counts because none of the boost or fueling parameters would have been exceeded which is the other place they look...

When the guy called me back he was even able to tell me that the stock tune was put in 54 miles ago, and that is how many miles it was from my house to the dodge dealership. So they do know if you have had a programmer on your truck and like the post before it is probably only from the key counts. because the pcm doesn't save the fuel and other readings so anyways they knew some how and now I am should I say screwed.
The diablo does clear key counts, and idle times. I believe my buddy justin talked to you johan about this and you told him to challenge them to find something other then this such as fueling parameter adjustments etc, and to let them know that just a scanner will clear key cyles, etc. They however disagreed and refused to work on vehicle. I do know however bullydog is traceable by not only key counts but fueling footprints also. As far as the smarty from what i have heard they leave no footprints whatsoever in the ecm and they store your key cycles and idle times when programer is added on and add that to what it did while truck had the programer when you put the stock tune back in the truck. From what ive heard also their are two types of software used by programer manufactures brazilian and american and the smarty and diablo are the only ones who use the american and bullydog and ppe use brazilian.

i don't like this very much i was told that this programmer wans't traceable.i guess they were wrong i neeed my warrany for regualr repairs.i don't want to have to debate the dealer. i donlt have the money to shell out for a repair that was not done by my programmer but they can see it was there.
i might have to change from diablo if ya'll can't find a way around this.
