OK, I made a call in to Diablo Sport tonight and while I was on hold I was scrolling though my Predator screens. I noticed that in the Tuning menus, just after I pick the auto trans option, it skips right to the option of installing, moding, restore, & troubleshooting. It completely jumped over the Vehicle data backup menu (it page 5 & 6 in my manual). Is that normal of 2.13? In 2.04, it wasn't, it would auto back up the 1st time the tune was installed. But my manual came with my Predator, so maybe it's out of date.
After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, my wife came out and told my supper was ready, so I hung up before I could talk to anybody. And after supper it was past 7:00, so I can't call back tonight.
Oh, and it if the stock tune isn't backup up, would that corrupt the Predator tune when it tries to load, causing a vehicle not to start?
Thanks
Andy

Any GM gas tool will save the stock tune before it starts writing.
If this tool started writing to your truck, it had a copy of your backup in it.

RE: U7198 - V2.13 - Does it still auto back up stock tune?
Thanks Mikel. So can I assume it safe to say the menu on the 2.13 will NOT follow the menu steps from my manual I got with 2.03 (and the same as 2.04). Is there a way to check that on the tool?

Not sure how you mean, the manual is pretty much the same from 2.00 to 2.13....

RE: U7198 - V2.13 - Does it still auto back up stock tune?
Ok, I'll try to explain. To clarify, this is the the 1st time I tried to load the tune.
I pick "Tune it" to try to install a tune (page 1 of my manual)
It goes to the "Apply parking brake....." screen (page 2)
then to the "disclaimer" screen (also page 2)
then to anther "disclaimer" screen (page 3)
then to the "important, read manual carefully...." screen (also page 3)
then I get to the "important, do you want to continue?" screen. (page 4)
I pick yes, and it goes to the "Tranmission type" screen (also page 4)
I pick automatic, and here's the part that's not the same.
My Predator 2.13 jumps to "performance, install performance, modify performance, restore saved data, troubleshooting" screen(page 7). My 2.04 didn't.
It completely skips the "vehicle data backup" screen and the 3 following screens the; confirming it's done, turn off the ignition, and turn on the ignition screens. (pages 5 & 6).
Does that help explain?
Thanks
Andy

RE: U7198 - V2.13 - Does it still auto back up stock tune?
Let me ask my question in a differnet way......
Does the 2.13 still show the back up in progress on the Predator as it's backing up the stock tune, like the 2.04 did?
Thanks,
Andy

RE: U7198 - V2.13 - Does it still auto back up stock tune?
Thanks Mikel. I wonder if that's my problem. Mine didn't show the back up taking place. I've got a RMA request in to send it back to have Diablo check it out. Any idea how long the wait is to get the RMA number? I got the auto response email on 3-25.
Thanks
Andy
