U7135 , 300 C 5.7L 2006 ... I have changed the autostick upshift to mode1 and the shift points to 6000 RPM. Then the car doesn't upshift till it I do it manually which is quite fine. However, I have noticed that even beyong 6000 RPM the car doesn't upshift and that it even went up beyond 6500 RPM which I believe is very dangerous for the engine !!
It is not normal that while driving at the limit of a shift that you keep your eye on the Rev counter rather than on the road !
This option takes the engine to a dangerous extremely high RPM ranges that can easily damage the engine !! I changed back to stock as I was terrified by this incident and the risk of damaging my engine ...
Can you please illustrate on this matter ......
300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!

Thats the whole point of mode 1, to disable the ability for the TCM to command an auto upshift. This way, it will rev as high as you want until YOU shift it.
Your rev limiter should always be set to a safe RPM so you cant over rev it to the moon.

RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
There are 2 parameters here:
1) The rev limiter. When RPMs get to the rev limiter point the engine shuts off the fuel/injectors (unconditionally)
2) The shift point. When the transmission is in full automatic mode it will upshift at the shift point. I think the stock shift point for the 5.7s is 5500. You can raise the shift point. The stock behavior, when in stick mode, is to upshift at the shift point. With the auto-upshift modes you can disable this so that the transmission, in stick mode, will hold the selected gear no matter what and the engine will rev right past the shift point all the way up to the rev limiter.
You should set your rev limiter to what you feel is the maximum safe rpm.

RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
Thank yu for your reply. I have put the CAI 91 tune and haven't played with the rev limiter parameter at all . All I did was raise shift point to 6000 RPM and the auto-upshift mode ... I assumed that will hold the gear till it reaches the 6000 RPM and then it will keep hold up there at 6000 RPM ... but it went beyond the 6500 RPm and there was no rev limiter cut off !! Does that mean the stock rev limiter is set so high ??? Can Chrysler put the shiftpoint at 5500 RPM and the redline from 5800 RPM and the rev limiter beyond 6500 ?? OR is the CAI 91 tune setup raises the rev limiter to that level ??
RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
We raise the stock rev limiter in the canned tunes to make up for the raised shift points adjustment, it is usually set at 6600. I would have to check your calid in order to see the exact rpm we set the rev limit too.

RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
That means in your setup you allow the engine to rev up to 6600 RPM ? Isn;t that risking something ? I mean damage to the camshaft ...valves ... crankcase ...etc.
RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
Well, without looking at the actual files, it is 6600 for an srt and lower for the 5.7L.
SRT is ok with that rev limit.

Well Johan , mine is the 5.7L , so where should the safe rev limit be in your setup ?
RE: 300C 5.7L Autostick upshift goes beyond 6500 RPM !!!
It is set to 6200 in the 5.7's
